MILFs at Grade School

Our eldest child began K at our local elementary school a few years ago. It's all good, a new, exciting experience for all of us. Fast forward, another child at the school, and over time, my brain has absorbed various tidbits of domestic struggles, dilemmas, "secrets", etc. just while dropping off/picking up the kids, attending b-day parties, fundraisers, sports activities, various school events, etc. An apparent, underlying Wisteria Lane sub-culture is underscored by the sight of many young moms in the morning, many nicely dressed even though unemployed, some very attractive, congregating, socializing, if you will, with the elementary school as the backdrop. Maybe some of them are purposely not wearing green today.

I've been so focused with work, being a husband and dad - basically making sure my own "house" is in order - to notice this stuff before. Certain events, including encounters with some old friends and catching up w/their lives has served as an eye-opener. Anyway, I guess the moral is, certain social needs don't necessarily end with marriage and kids. Maybe others have noticed something similar in their own "environment." Hell, maybe someone here is gettin' with his kid's classmate's mom.

You live in my neighborhood? I've noticed this as well since I've been sans- employment. Now when I take our little one out in the stroller around the 'hood, I get the feeling there's 20 pairs of eyeballs on me.

I told my single buddy he should come over and take my daughter for a stroll around the block.

Do kids work better than puppies :). Maybe I need to volunteer to take my neighbors' boy (he's 5) to school and check it out.

I notice it more at the Gym. I go to 24 hour fitness and the daycare center is packed on weekdays. Lots of 30-something gals look like they spent an hour and a half getting ready to work out. They get some time away from the kids, and it's social hour, etc.

And, yea, kids work better than dogs. The younger the better. I've got a 2 year old that is an absolute lethal weapon when it comes to getting smiles from the ladies.
