Fritz:

While I don't know you I certainly can feel your pain, in some ways, as I can not imagine losing my lover, my wife and my best friend (same person for you young folks). We have been married 42 years an d it seems so short. I am trying hard to support a close friend that just lost his wife of 62 years. My and my wife's prayers are with you. You both stayed the course and supported each other and enjoyed lifes' high and low points. I applaud you both

Fritz, 43 years seems like a long time to most, but I know it is just a blink, and time seems to compress as you get older. I am sure you and your wife valued each passing day as the day drew closer. I am very sad to hear of your loss, and I know her passing will be a great toll on you and your family. I pray for her and you. Glenn

My condolences...hang on to those memories of the good times. May those memories help you through this period of deep sadness.

Deepest sympathies. I can only guess at the depth of your grief. I'm glad she was comfortable and you were there.

Fritz:

My heart goes out to you. I lost my beautiful bride nearly two years ago to a Doctor's carelessness (perforated bowel during a colonoscopy). All I can say is that this will be a difficult time but things will get better. I often tell people that I may be lonely but I am never alone. She will be by your side for the rest of your life. Don't be afraid to talk to her. Believe me, it helps. Send me a PM if you want to. I can give you my phone # if you need someone to talk to.

Hi Bob, It was a shock to see your "name" on a thread. Hope you are well, and I hope your experiences are of assistance to Fritz in difficult times. I wish the very best for both of you guys...be well!

Thank you for sharing this with us.
Not everyone is as lucky as you have been, having a partner for so long, and being able to be there at the end. All any of us can hope for is 'a life well lived' and it sounds like your wife had that privilege. Plus a loving spouse.
