Electric or blade shave?
I like the convenience of electric but the shave is terrible. By the time I've gotten close shaven enough, I could have shaved three times with a blade. I've only had Brauns though, maybe they are no good?
|
I found that electric shavers irritated my skin too much. Cheap (think Bic plastic cheepies) razors do great.
|
I used electric for years. I had a $130 Braun self-cleaning razor, so it was no cheap POS. Started using a disposable razor and never looked back. Better shave, just as fast, no irritation.
|
Always a blade. Always Gillette. I'll use a mug and brush with hot water or Edge gel.
|
blade. gillette disposables.
|
Blade. Gillette Quattro only with The Art of Shaving oil/brush/cream/lotion. One of my guilty pleasures. It makes something that used to be a drudgery actually enjoyable.
|
Electric. Blades make my skin on my face and neck yell and scream afterwards. Anywhere else though it's fine. Weird.

When I used to shave, I used a Norelco... it was a lot less irritating than some of those other electrics... must be something about those 3 circular heads.
It was plenty close, but it didn't matter to me that it wasn't an uber close shave... I've never cared much about that... for me, it was faster than shaking up the can of foam and going through all that stuff... it was even FASTER when you consider the fact that you NEVER nick yourself and have to nurse that tiny, bleeding cut, too. |

Both. I use a Norelco usually, because i can sit and watch the morning news and slowly shave without thinking about it (I find that the longer and more random I am, the closer the shave).
I've recently included the new hybrid blades for when I really need to be close, the battery powered manuals. SUPER close, no nicks, no burns, no nothing. I mean, easily twice as close and faster than a blade. I shave in the shower. |
Both, I have a self cleaning Braun, but I have been finding myself not using it very much anymore.
I shave my head everyday as well, and I like the Gillette Fusion with King of Shaves Get from Target. Bill |
I typically do a blade (Mach5) once or twice a week and electric the other days. I often don't shave on weekends. My skin doesn't like it but the electric definitely is less irritating for me. Plus, I travel a lot and electric is way more practical.
|
Both though the blade is way more irritating on the skin. All blades, no matter if they are disposable or the premium 3/4 blade deals, last more than 2 shaves on my face before they start tearing the whiskers out. UGLY.

i use electric

Electric. Braun. Once in a great while I will use a blade, always a good disposable but cannot shave my neck close w/ a blade w/o at least one small nick. The Braun is a funny machine; I believe that it's the Porsche of shavers and can shave as close as you want, (down to baby skin), but it's really slow. I like to shave while doing something else, (like reading this board), I've found that I can shave better and closer by feel than looking in the mirror. The touch doesn't lie but the eyes can.

Blade in the shower during the work week…
Don’t shave during the weekend, unless (Funeral, Wedding, PCA event or One of my wife’s BS events) |
Never EVER found a electric to do the job..Like a Lawn mower with a dull blade set way too high
|
Blade - Bik disposables. They are single blade so don't shave TOO close.
|
Blade....
|
I used to use a Norelco with an occasional swath with a blade if I needed a really close shave. It never really got that close and left some ingrown hairs, but I stuck with it anyway.
Then one day the heads on the electric needed to be replaced but I couldn't find any replacements. While searching, I started using a blade and never went back. BB. |
