Sort of true, the high nickel content stainless is not magnetic.

300 series is not. 400 is. Or maybe it's the other way around.

Don't know of any modern engines that use ferrous pistons!

A modern piston belongs in a modern engine, an old ferrous piston belongs on a wall, hence the idea that it would be awesome.:D
