This is effective advertising..

To counter the Quiznos commercial thread, I have to see what you all think of my current favourite tv spot:

<object width="640" height="385"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/X8nJKa13sBo&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x3a3a3a&color 2=0x999999"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/X8nJKa13sBo&hl=en&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x3a3a3a&color 2=0x999999" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="640" height="385"></embed></object>

I have actually gotten in my car and drove down the street to a Hardees to get one of these burgers on more than one occasion after seeing this commercial. Possibly the most effective ad I've ever witnessed, because I have never, before this, bought anything because of seeing it on TV...

That and the burger is actually really, really good.

and Padma is delicious.

Now everyone go discuss how I'm mentally ill for being effected by that ad.

probably the most famous

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/OYecfV3ubP8&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OYecfV3ubP8&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

a personal favorite - brilliant editing

It's just the long legs ...askew ...on the steps.

Hot!

You'll recover.

The Carl's Jr ad . . .

Since it's a regional chain, they don't have the umph of the big guns. So they need to offer something different. How about burgers & eroticism? Hire a seriously sexy intelligent Indian (multi-cultural) woman who just happens to host a cooking show (not just a pretty face & not too too threatening to her gender). Have her walk through a market (think fresh) squeezing & fondling vegetables. They really should have included a cucumber. Have her sit on a brownstone’s steps (urban neighborhood) Make eating a burger erotic. A big burger. A big, juicy burger. Soft honey lighting. Include a bacon suck & a hamburger side lick (wow . . . just think about that move for a minute . . .).

Good ad. Well done.

Always loved this old VW ad.

The VW Bubble Boy should have been a Bubble Girl. The new VW bug is the ultimate chick car. What other car comes with a flower vase? The Miata is the only other car that SCREAMS chick car. Other than that, it is a cool ad. Probably the best ads are from Budweiser. My wife drinks maybe two or three beers per year, she loves the Bud Clysdale ads.

That burger ad doesn't do it for me. I see what they're trying to do, but it just doesn't work, IMO. The claim is that she's a "culinary expert", and the point is that even with her tasting abilities, she still appreciates this greasy hamburger - it appeals even to the highest standards. It's obviously BS, and so much so that I was waiting for the punchline. When it didn't come, the ad failed to me.

Your analysis is certainly valid but I think it's also designed to get the attention of beer guzzling quarter pounder crowd as well.:D I wouldn't eat the food but the commercial is fun to watch!

huh huh, you said Hardees . . .

The ad doesn't make me want a bacon cheeseburger. Roast beef, maybe.

When watching the youtube video, over to the right is a box called "embed". Just copy and past what's in that box....like this:

<object width="425" height="344"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/PfJb1E3fnHs&hl=en&fs=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/PfJb1E3fnHs&hl=en&fs=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="425" height="344"></embed></object>

This is effective advertising but not quite as cute.

I have been a fan of the western bacon cheeseburger for years. When I was younger I'd get the double western bacon cheeseburger. One time, my buddy dared me to order a triple western bacon cheeseburger, they didn't really know how to ring it up, I told them to ring me up for a double and a single and just put it all together in one burger... They did... it was heavy, and delicious mmmmmm Now they have the six dollar western bacon cheeseburger? Oh hell yeah, I'm all about it :D

Interesting that they choose a woman from a culture that eschews (pun intended) eating beef to advertise a burger. She is pretty steamy.

No kidding.

And not only has she been bonking Rushdie all these years, she does advertising for bacon burgers?

She's a fatwa just waiting to happen...
