Son bought his first vehicle (Toyota Tacoma)

Bought from a local dealer (Pre-owned Certified), He's 20 and has no credit at all; good way to start building credit) . So I co-signed, but he's responsible for the payments. When they ran it, my credit score was 828

It's a 2006 4 door with about 52K on the clock.

I thought he had a car that got wrecked. Oh well, you said he "bought" his first vehicle. Looks brand new to me.

Great choice! I bought my Toyota 4x4, with a 22-RE when I was 19, it's my DD to this day.
I'm 37.

Very dependable trucks.
Shouldn't have to worry about repairs, oil-grease & go

Sweet truck! I got an '08 4 door with 40k miles on it and it runs like a champ! Although I plan on buying a used Corolla or something to start splitting miles with.

Also, if it is certified does that mean it comes with a 100k mile warranty? Only reason I ask is there was a TSB put out for a 4 leaf replacement pack for the rear leafs. Factory it has 3 leaf packs which bottom out from putting as little as a 24pack of water bottles in it. PM me if you need details on how to get it as you can't just walk in and ask them to do it.

pretty awesome of you to co-sign for your son. I can remember back to when I was his age and needing a reliable vehicle and my dad basically told me to go F myself. I did end up making the scratch to buy myself a ride though, tough but good times......

Outstanding trucks! Bought mine used when it had 60K miles on it. I've almost doubled the mileage with nothing more than regular maintenance. No unexpected surprises and I like the way it drives. I never thought I would drive a truck as a daily driver but I enjoy the versatility. I hope your son enjoys his Tacoma as much as I have enjoyed mine.

Matt, did you copy me subliminally, or do we think that much alike?

He's not going to get any wrenching experience on that one for a long time. Nice.

Great little truck, Hugh.

My son Jack in "his" truck, a 2000 Tacoma. He gets it when he turn 16 in a year and a half. He's been driving it, a manual, for about three years

Tell him to look into the Borla exhaust that was a factory option. It sounds pretty darn good. My dad had one and it was an amazing truck. He sold it to buy another Dodge diesel because he needed more tow capacity.

He was driving his sisters Jeep Wagoneer on New Years eve two years ago taking her to a party at about 11PM and he T-boned a chick who ran a red light. He was not at fault and stone cold sober. I bought him his 70 Cutlass which we sold and used the proceeds to buy his 2000 GMC Sonoma, which was breaking down. We used it for the down payment on the Tacoma. This is his first car he's had to put a signature on a loan.

There are no factory optioned Borla exhausts...the TRD exhaust is made by (IIRC) Corsa.

There was in '06. We bought it almost new and it had the borla. When we bought it we looked on the Toyota website and it was listed as a $700 option.
