i do this all day

so my goal while managing a big pave job as the chosen inspector is to keep it productive for the contractor, not give him enough rope to hang us both, and if you end up on the even commute traffic report you've failed
.

found these on my work camera from last years grind ops...

Looks good to me. I see Americans working improving America. And hey someone had to mill those boards, make the nails, mix the concrete, and deliver it all. Seems like good economic stimulation.

Yeah, but if it had been done with local taxes instead of MY taxes I would feel better. Why should my income taxes pay for street improvements I will never ever see. The federal government should get out of the road building business except for interstate highways.

city jobs do not have a 100% hard hat rule? strange seeing that. i have an "action pack" to get onto my jobsite. i have a "self rescuer" which is just about the scariest PPE i can ever imagine. if we need it, we are just about done. gives us time to make peace with the maker imho.

I don't have problem with people who are doing flat work (paving, sidewalks etc.) not wearing hard hats....

Need to wear them when driving piles, steel erection, working in excavations....Having to wear a hard hat while raking 275 deg asphalt is a silly thing..

Looks like there is quite a bit of water in that concrete
