When F1 and Bicycle Racing collide...

Some of this stuff is over the top, but perversely cool nonetheless...

The Duc isn't F1, but I've seen one in person - they're really sharp looking.

you should change the title of the thread to "When cycling and MotoGP collide" because if Bernie and Max ever get hold of cycling they will suck the fun right out of it.

I do like those rides though, thanks for sharing. Bet they accelerate like demons.

Ironic that Marlboro appears to be a sponsor in cycling...

Hilarious - I'd ride the Marlboro one just for the confused looks I'd get... Hahaha!

Bernie and Max couldn't do any more damage to cycling than it's already done to itself.

Ayrton Senna had just inked a deal to put his name on a bicycle shortly before his death...

His wife (and Ducati) later put his name on a Ducati.

I thought this thread was going to be about Sebastien Vettel.

Bianchi builds the Ducatti; IIRC, the aluminum version is the heaviest of all the bikes here - probably around 18-19 lbs depending on components.

On the other hand, that BMW looks like it can weigh as low as 16 lbs.

Anything below 15 lbs is illegal in pro cycling.

How much do these bikes cost? I really don't have a frame of reference. I know it's probably obscene so I'm guessing $10K...how much more can they really charge? Even if it's made completely out of titanium, I'm guessing $10-12K is the ceiling, right?

Seems as if these guys build the BMW bikes:

http://www.bossbi.com/bike/bmw/bmwbikes.php

Price: I wouldn't want to ask. Versions of the Pinarello that Carlos Sastre won the 2008 Tour de France on go for $15,000.

More BMW examples:
(seems to me I've seen a couple of these at Art Center in Pasadena which has a huge automotive/truck/motorcycle/bicycle design department)
