Coffee... what is it good for?

I have dumped drinking diet soda for my caffeine fix... but now have three or four cups of coffee every morning to wake up (only drink coffee in the morning).

Any opinions on the health effect of coffee?

The good, the bad, the ugly?

TIA

when i was animating/in betweening, after the third cup of the day i'd notice a slight tremor in my line.

too much really has to take a toll on your nerves.

Many cardiac patients are asked to discontinue caffiene after heart arrythmias are detected. It could aggravate or increase the risk of developing an arrythmia.
Gives you bad breath and apparently very difficult to go without after the habit has formed.
The good is that it helps you wake up and stay alert. Meth will do the same if you need to quit caffiene.

At the risk of being flamed, I am going to post the below here as well as in the past due stuff in your fridge thread:

MMMMM Coffee Grounds!!!!

FE Warren AFB, Squadron Coffee Club. I was in it for one month, then it became my turn to "make the coffee for a week". I knew the coffee tasted rather bad at the end of the week, now it was time to learn why.

Monday: Put the grounds for a 120 cup pot into the perculator, add water.
Tuesday: Add one scoop of grounds, add more water.
Wednesday: Scoop out any mold, add grounds over the top, add more water.
Thursday: Scoop out any mold, add grounds over the top, add more water.
Friday: Scoop out any mold, add grounds over the top, add more water. End of day, dump all grounds and coffee. Using no soap, clean out the pot with hot water. Rinse well several times and dry with paper towels. Leave to air dry over the weekend.

It seems that using soap would ruin the flavor of the coffee...

Hmmm and the meth doesn't turn your teeth brown... you might be on to something there.

get more sleep, and bump down to one cup? everything in moderation.

Funny: two of the last posts have stated what coffee is bad for...

Anyway, according to a couple health articles I've read what coffee is good for is a slight mitigation of muscle pain from strenuous exercise. Also, it's good for headaches.

I love coffee. I have a Krups espresso maker, and I drink 4-6 shots of espresso a day.

Ask a dope cop or anyone else who has had regular dealings with meth-heads, and you'll learn that brown rotten teeth, along with picked-at body scabs and sores, are tell-tale signs of chronic meth use.

My doc. told me to cut it down a bit. I fill my maker up to three cups, but I really only consider to be one large one, since it just fills my travel mug. That's all I'll have in one day.

Like most things - good in moderation. Like beer - life is too short to drink the cheap stuff.

Ahh yes... but what is considered "moderation"?

I only drink it in the mornings.

Coffee is a powerful dietary antioxidant. It's also protects against the development of Alzheimers disease. Good stuff!

Does that mean I'll remember this thread to my grave? Great! SmileWavy
