Wow. And you think that animals are treated better here in the United States?

I can't believe the racist baloney in this thread. Americans eat far more meat than the Chinese. Oh,oh, wait I get it, because they're cute little doggies getting chopped up, the Chinese are 'animals'. Grow up.

WTF? Do any of you people actually know where you food comes from? Might want to find out and temper your rage at the Chinese.

You may have just turned me into a racist with that clip.

Nice. Obviously, you don't eat any other meat that has been slaughtered by any other race.:rolleyes:

I normally agree with what you say, but get off your podium and stop pontificating to me. I actually grew up on a livestock farm, so I'm pretty versed in ethical versus non-ethical treatment of animals. Their methods of killing are an issue, not only from a humanity standpoint, but also a sanitation standpoint. And yes, animals are more humanly killed here in the US, then what is shown in this video. You're misinformed if you think otherwise.

Somebody made reference that this is no different then chickens or cows. You don't think that a higher species of animal has any difference as to whether it's right or not to kill it? Hell, let's just kill humans and eat them. They are, animals, afterall. Based on my "provincial outlook" where is the line where it's ok to eat, versus not ok to eat?

Bugs --> Chickens --> Cows --> Pigs --> Cats --> Dogs --> Humans

Let's send the PETA people to China, solving 2 problems at once.

How do you propose to do this (other than what was depicted)? If you don't have access to expensive equipment/gas (which some people might suggest taints the taste of the meat - whatever that is) etc. Looks like they are trying to select an animal and not get bitten while slaughtering. Not particularly pretty to watch, but given that they are tying blades to closet rods for the killing tool, I don't think they have a lot of resources.

Did you look at some of the other links I posted? Cows pushed around with forklifts or hung upside down while dying, or cut jugulars? That's in western slaughterhouses BTW.

Why is a dog "higher" than a cow? Because one is your pet? All animals potentially could be pets. This attitude is so ethnocentric. Would you be this incensed about monkeys that are killed?

(Paul, why green?)

Can't agree with that at all. My boss has a pet steer. It acts EXACTLY like a 3000lb cat. Throws a fit when it gets the wrong feed, prancing up the pasture when she comes home, etc , etc.
