Jon and Kate + 8 - Preposterous

I hate this show. I hate her in particular. But I'm fascinated with the train wreck that's slowly buckling and skidding off the tracks.

She's in it for the money. He's in it for the partying and pu-tang. The eight kids are in it until Pennsylvania child services take them away because Dad's a drunk and Mom's gone mad.

Come Fall, hopefully J&K+8 will be one less reality show stealing the airwaves from television programming with real value - if there is any left aside from what's on PBS.

+2.

My daughter is addicted to this idiocy and filled me in on all the details.

So, instead of quitting the show and making even a nominal attempt at working on their marriage, they are quitting their marriage and will both continue to do the show. But separately.

Because "its all about the kids".

Our 6 year old had it on the other day and we promptly told her to turn off the TV. She liked it for the kids. I feel sorry for the kids.

i read in an article that they (the parents) said, "no matter what happens, the show must go on!" i may have paraphrased it. either way..WTF? seems they like the limelight much more than the kids. i feel for them. i hope the kids come out alright, and none become strippers or porn stars...

i have seen a few episodes. my wife thinks the kids are cute. i think the wife should get a new haircut. something from this decade.

i never new what it was until recently. i would flip channels and see these 2 idiots sitting on a couch, eh, this looks stupid, flip,,,,flipp,,,,next top model,,,stupid,,,,,flip flip,,,skank women dating a drug addict rock star,,stupid,,,,flip,,,flip,,,next top chef,,,stupid,,flip flipp,,,another reality show,,,,flip,,,,flip. i give up. i got rid of cable.
i can still watch 2 1/2 men, i liked the 2 shows that came before men did last night.

i'd do her...from behind

I can't understand why they couldn't make an honest attempt at marriage counseling. Wether it worked or not it would have made for a positive story line about family and commitment. Now it just seems about selfishness, failure and a chance for a single life "do over" which in my book is null and void when you decide to pop out 8 kids.

I'm convinced that you can take any woman, put her into a "reality" show, and she will eventually turn into a stark-raving-k*nt.

Great example of why we have so many *****ed up families in the country today. I don't watch that stuff. I don't need any more rationale to push me over the edge!

Pretty much a microcosm of what is wrong with our society. A family destroyed because the mom and dad care too much about fame and fortune. Trash, pure and simple, just like 99% of the programs on TV.

A modern morality tale. The rest of us can sit around the tube and cluck cluck to our kids how good they got it.;)

Yeah, but who would watch that? Seriously.

Train wreck = good TV ratings.

dhoward 06-23-2009 11:38 AM

Idiocracy.

juanbenae 06-23-2009 11:49 AM

Dude, they pretty much all turn into stark-raving-k*nts anyway, TV is merely a catalyst that speeds up the reaction.

now marriage is considered a long term date. it is easier to break up than to work at it......and it takes work.

Jon & Kate Plus 8

They make $75,000 per episode.

Kate makes, with book deals, perfume, kids' stuff about $4 million a year.

Jon's completely checked out. He couldn't give a rat's hiney any longer.

Yes, these people get paid - a lot - for the depth of their services to the American public.

I stumbled upon it by accident. I wouldn't have known what it was if it weren't for the regular viewers here. :D

onewhippedpuppy 06-23-2009 12:58 PM

So $4M is the going rate to destroy a family these days?
