Yep. Doing that and his deal with Sony made him more wealthy than when he was putting out albums. Rumors say he bought the Elephant Man's bones, but who knows?

Thriller was cool. "Off the Wall" which was before Thriller, was IMO better. There was a lot of edge to that album. "Heartbreak Hotel" was a great song; still is. Lots of layers and rawness to it.

Can you imagine being the EMT that shows up and has to give him CPR?

dd74 06-25-2009 04:54 PM

Yeah, or the doctor performing the autopsy.

Heather Mills will probably try to buy it with McCartney's money.

Zeke 06-25-2009 05:08 PM

Well, not to hijack, but Mills got enough money to be comfortable, but Paul has the means. However, I get the irony.

They don't lock lips... they have a bag, right? I'd be afraid of his nose falling off.

Ed, Farrah, MJ... Cronkite was reportedly grave, but other sources have said nonsense.

It's a fine line between uber-talent and freak.

IMO, the uber-talent side died in the late 80's.

I agree 100%, one less predator in the world, now only if Woody Allen and Roman Polanski would join him we would be done with high profile pedophiles that Hollyweird and the masses adore.

I never understood what the big deal was over him, he was interesting when he was a kid prodigy with the Jackson 5, once he went out on his own I never liked his stuff, nor did any of my friends. We were always trying to figure out who the hell was buying his albums because none of us were.

As a father of 2 sons I found this man to be the most dangerous type of pedo because he was adored by blind fans, look no further than this thread to see folks still defend him to this day. Scary stuff.

Back in 2000, Michael was cutting a new record...I got a call from his producer, I forget the guys name now...but he was in the studio with Michael cutting the record and they wanted a piece of my company's gear to use on the record.

I cut the guy a deal in exchange for an artist endorsement from Michael, which we got and we used... but I must say the producer came across as a sycophant who was somewhat clueless about anything. I think among other things, Michael surrounded himself with many of the wrong people.

MSNBC is now reporting that his ex lawyer made a statement that Michaels people were feeding him tons of pills. So, it may be another Elvis situation in that regard.

Villified by the people and the media and today ohh how he will be missed.

Yes he had buckets of talent. He also did not have a happy life inspite of all the money and fame.

His old man was a tyrant, and evrybody else kissed his azz from the time he was 5 years old.

Yes it is a sad ending, much like Elvis..

Super_Dave_D 06-25-2009 05:35 PM

He already has 7 of the top 100 songs on Itunes - he’s an instant sensation!! He is going to be BIG!

Wife told me earlier that Michael recently willed the catalog to Paul.

We have covers for that that keep the EMT/Para from touching them in case they are bleeding or otherwise something that you do not want to contact. Carry one on my key ring so its with me all the time. Still it would be hard to do after all that has come out about him and his problem with young kids.

When he was young he was excellent but not the last 15 years. What he did was sick, no other way to describe it.

Aerkuld 06-25-2009 06:05 PM

Everybody has heard the rumors, but was he ever convicted? Has anyone ever offered concrete proof of anything?
Sure, he was a wierd guy and didn't really do anything to help his image or do anything to change his detractors opinions in the later years. I think the guy was highly suspicious and I wouldn't have let my kids hang around with him, but that doesn't automatically make him guilty does it?

I'm not defending him, just saying that we normally crow on about due process here and now we seem to have changed our tune.

The guy is dead. I don't care what he did, this isn't the time for name calling.

Yeah. He was convicted by the tabloids.

But for the ueber-sanctimonious that's enough.

s_morrison57 06-25-2009 06:14 PM

OK enough is enough! I started the first post about MJ jokes several hours before he died and I have no regrets about it.
What makes me sick is all the people that are backing his ass and saying what a good guy he was - get with it he was a child molester that had money to buy his way outta prison and you wanta jump on the sympathy train.
There's lots of child molesters in prison now , pick one and hop on his band wagon cause he had no money to buy his freedom.
It's not RIP for MJ it's SIH - suffer in hell

Would you pay someone's family $25 million bux for nothing? Would you let your boys sleep nekkid with MJ?

Convicted or not, there is more than enough evidence that MJ was a child molestor. My treatment for child molestors is to be taken behind the court house and shot until dead.

exitwound 06-25-2009 06:24 PM

There is a difference between enjoying the company of kids and actually molesting them.

From my point of view, no to both those questions.

But I also would not accept $25 million from someone I knew was guilty to drop my case. How much are your kids worth?

If there is "more than enough evidence" then why was he never locked up?

I'm not saying he was a good guy just making a point.
