Rats with wings...

So my old folks live in a high-rise apartment, and the apartment above theirs has some pipes under the balcony on which pigeons love to roost and crap all over my old folks balcony.

Anyone have any suggestions for persuading them to roost elsewhere? I've seen buildings that have these spiky metal strips on the window ledge to prevent pigeons roosting there. Anyone know where to get these?

Any suggestions much appreciated.

If its along a beam they do make a tacky glue type stuff in a caulking tube. you run a bead along where they land and when they feel the sticky stuff off they go.

Pigeon Busters

Look at their Bird-Flite product. Very common in Europe.

These could very well be garden-dwelling attack pigeons.

Warn them not to make eye contact, and in the event they do, be sure to have a good bludgeoning shovel ready.

Owl decoys from a good feed and grain supplier... afix a couple of these to where they're nesting and they should stay away.... unless they figure it out. I've also seen a row of brush-like material placed along the top edge of the pipe they sit on. The brush aggravated their feet when they try to land. Good Luck!

And after you're finished with the deed...
btw, we callem' roof rabbits here

Pigeon Pie Recipe
6 small pigeons, dressed, washed, pat dry
1 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
4 tablespoons butter
2 tablespoons onion, chopped
8 cloves
1 carrot, sliced
2 tablespoons parsley, chopped
2 tablespoons celery, chopped
2 tablespoons flour
2 Pastry shells, uncooked

Tie legs and wings of the pigeons together with string and close to the body. Sprinkle with the salt and pepper. Melt 2 Tbsp butter in pan and saute pigeons, searing them on both sides.

Cover them with water. Add onion, carrot, parsley, cloves, and celery. Cover and simmer until tender. **About 3 hours**

Remove the pigeons and debone the meat. Mix flour to a smooth paste with remaining butter. Add this mixture to the broth of the pigeons. Bring to a boil.

Line a well greased pie pan with 1 shell. Add the meat and then the thickened broth. Cover it with the other pastry shell. Bake at 450* until nice and brown.
