Better ditch the 73 with PMO's, they are heating up the world.

Jim Richards 07-16-2009 01:39 PM

Indeed. Get some MFI or EFI on that car, Randy! :)

thought of those, but can't afford

I did kill my lawnmower...

Last month I had dinner with a researcher friend who spent time in Antartica performing atmospheric research for the government back in the 80's ... global warming. There were other people at the table who didn't know this about the him, but he and I have talked about his time in Antartica before. When the opportunity to mention Antartica presented itself, I primed the discussion and asked him to tell the rest of the table what he was doing in the cold down there.....

....I figured he'd tell some friendly tales, but he just went off on the Global Warming Alarmists. It was funny as hell.

"Just take a look at the chart of the data. The moving average temperature has clearly been rising. The ‘cooling’ is simply temperatures that have not exceeded a one year spike."

Yes yes. . so the once touted "Hockey-stick" fear has been debunked.

So, now, Just take a look at the chart of the data from 1940 forward. (when we were Really stinking up the place - world at war, big ships spewing, big cities burning, atom bombs exploding...)

the correlation?

But thanks for the link, Randy. --I have a global warming kool-aide drinking friend who still insists that we've had no recent cooling. (sez "always warmer, every year") -he's dedicated to the charade. He'll love this.

Oh, and what's with thinking we had global temp accuracy down to one decimal place, 200 years ago?

idontknow 07-16-2009 05:49 PM

Well what do you expect from a climate alarmist site like examiner.com?

Complete rubbish

This is all ideological and political.

Until someone can definitively tell us what the correct earth temperature should be everyone on both sides are just blowing smoke out their a$$.:p:p

Question has been asked before, never have heard an answer from either side.

Yall just keep on.

island911 07-16-2009 06:26 PM

The G8 actually has usurped that power.

They have set the global thermostat (you didn't know we had one, did ya?) set to stay w/in 2°C

uhm .. yeah .... good luck with that, you arrogant pricks.

Glen - are you aware that there is a substantial lag time in the response to CO2 inputs?

Yes, historic records (Ice cores) show that atmospheric CO2 peaks, lag behind global warming peaks by ~800 years. ..Which makes sense considering the slow change of carbonic acid in solution, in the oceans. (that is, as the oceans warm, more carbonic acid comes out of solution, and into the atm. as CO2 gas)

When using the green font, use the middle one (sea green), and make it bold. THEN people can read it.

that is an interesting assertion - maybe you can point to some papers published in scientific journals supporting that??

Tell you what, when the big fireball in the sky says it is time to warm up, we warm up. When the big fireball in the sky says we cool down we cool down. You can look at the CO2 levels till you are blue in the face, but it all come to a big fireball in the sky. Without it we go bye bye real fast.
