azzy!!!!! welcome back!

Very few things make me cry, but this picture did. http://img.tapatalk.com/a6937b10-0159-9aa7.jpg
My parents had to have my lab Scout put to sleep today. Back in may they found out she had leukemia and it was fairly developed. You can see the tumor on her right leg. I wasn't sure I would even get to see her again. Luckily with meds they kept her comfortable most of the summer, but over the last week she turned for the worse, and adjusting the meds didn't help. We got her at 6 wks old, when I was 8 or 9. I spent a lot of time with her, she was one of the smartest dogs I've ever met, and I don't think she's ever growled at anyone. You could take things out of her mouth and she wouldn't growl. Going home and seeing her yard empty is going to be hard for sure. |

Bummer Sid. What mix was the breed? Looks like a great dog.

Bummer Sid. That's always a bitter pill :(

Well, time to open up and admit it. I think I've hit midlife crisis. My business started to tank at the end of last year and has become worse. To the point of not being able to pay my bills this month. I'm tired of the IT industry. I'm mentally just tired and burned out. I don't know what I am going to do and I presently have zero drive or motivation to do do anything.
I am really tired of this. Oh, and Rick. No, everything is not okay. ;) |

Maybe you can get by on woodworking for a while? If you focus on pricey quality and not quantity it might be fun.
|
Well, Max. My mom and I had a long talk after dinner. I brought that up and she (in my eyes), wasn't very supportive and doesn't see it happening. Makes it hard to push forward when your parents say things like that. At the same time, when I mention being a bit unsupportive, she gets all pushed out of shape and thinks I am solely blaming them.

Your a skilled wood whisperer Dave. Give it a go if that what you desire, what's to lose?

As long as I'm busy I don't mind. You tend to not notice the passing of the day. It's these slow times that I don't like, they get me down too. |

Good morning folks.
Sid, sorry to hear about your dog. Dave, I know it sucks to see a business just dry up. Keep plugging along, something will turn up. |
It did not cool off much last night.

Dave, sorry to hear that you are feeling down, but sometimes you just have to let go and start again, find something that you can do to bring in a little. Only whilst you sort it, at least if the bills are getting paid you will feel better, you don't have to love it, just pay the bills. It's very hard to find something you like doing that someone will pay you for.
Me I am sitting around on a working holiday ATM, hubby working and my holidaying, at least until I get some reserve days funded here in the USA, through Aust Air Force. I am gainfully underemployed atm, still have some days from back in Oz that I am working with remotely, but not working too hard. Our house back in Oz has been vacant since we left, but hopefully this week we might have a tenant moving in, so at least the mortgage will pay for itself, and that is a load of our wallet, paying for the house here, the biggest midgets apartment and our vacant house was starting to eat into the future cars (dreaming) budget. Would like to take a lovely older mustang home to Oz, and maybe a nice old Porsche to add to the growing family of German cars at home. If we own a car for 12 months here (less than 30 years old) there is no import duty applicable, 30 year old cars don't atract du anyway. The rumour mill says that the 2014 mustang will be able to be ordered rhd first time every direct from the factory. If the house is rented I can start dreaming anyway! |
A friend of mine had a right hand drive Fiat convertible. We loved to drive down the highway with him driving and me holding a steering wheel acting like I was trying to get the steering wheel back on some invisible steering column. For some reason it made folks in others cars nervous.

I just noticed that this thread has passed 1,000,000 views. It is a long way from the over 9 million random pics thread but it does have more actual posts!
