I still have the split grips and might have few of the cases from a double load out of a 45acp. Not cool.
|
I don't have to worry about that, my XD flat ass won't eat a handload. Not sure why...
|
case length and bullet seat not right?
|
From what we could tell the bullet seat wasn't right. I'm sure the guy could load some up that would work if I would leave him the gun... I don't shoot that much though, so I just shoot factory loads, and give him the cases.
The load that my XD wouldn't shoot, his Browning HiPower shot without an issue.... Gawd I love that browning.... |
Alright chaps, time to hit the road, don't have too much fun without me...

If it won't eat that handload, then something in that handload needs to be changed so it will eat it. You can make the handload any way you want it.. so the right kind of load should be edible for the XD just as the factory ammo it has been eating without problems. Hell, handload doesn't mean much in terms of specs of the round .. You can have ****ty factory load, ****ty handload.. Last week a guy had a .222 remington cause overpressure in his bolt action rifle @ the range.. and that was factory ammo. So there's no guarantees there either. I'm sure we can find factory ammo out there that your XD won't like either. If one handload doesn't work, make another one. What went wrong with the XD and the handload? failure to feed? failure to cycle? stovepiping, what ? So what handload was it? how much grain was the bullet? what kind of bullet? JHP? FMJ ? lad tip? round, wadcutters etc etc. If something doesn't add up, then add something else up till it does work. EDIT "other guys handload" ok, what Porsche Poor said.. |
after that fun I will never shoot someone elses hand loads. It is my own loads or factory.
|
Well, my garage is going to be a right fun place to be.. with the roof that went on monday it's now completely dry, insulated.. Solar panels on today, so in the event of zombies taking out the grid, i'll have electricity... So i got the 1911, got the reloader .. next on the list would be an Springfield Amory M1a, but that will have to wait a while, they aren't cheap in the US, and they are even less cheap once they cross the Atlantic...
|
I had a girlfriend once, she loved handloads....
:D |
In other words call before knocking on the door...........

Where are you building this wall? Behind the garage? Or to the left and right of your garden?
Your place is pretty enclosed as it is now, no? |
well, left of my garage, between neighbors garage and mine.
There was a little walkway there, and a gate.. with a 4 feet overhang from teh roof of the garage. That's all gone now, so that area cleared up.. but it also means the gate can be climbed over with ease. And since i won't be using the walkway much.. and need a place to keep my chickens and rabbits.. i figure i can close off that walk way.. with a decent brick wall. Will also keep unwanted varmints away from my livestock... I don't trust my 2 cats to be on guard 24/7ish..i know that cat's sleep more then 75% of the day.. so 2 can only cover 50% of the day, at best. since they often sleep as a team, i think 15% coverage is the most i can get out of them. As for zombies , the easiest way to gain access will be on the other side now.. but that is intentional. I will know where they will come frome, and i will be able to lay down plenty of boobytraps and supressive fire on just that area. Just need to find some army surplus Claymores... |
Rather than call I think I'll send someone else over if they come back your in a good mood...
|
When my car is finished and I"m coming your way, I"ll be sure to give you ample warning....
Will I be needing my kevlar vest? ;) |
Dunno, do you think i go for center mass or for headshots?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1320872530.jpg |
Center mass then one final shot to finish off.
|
doesn't work with Zombies... you'de be wasting ammo.
|
I hope we don't have to find out.
