I am going to figure a way to use that one too. Sparrow fart is not going to be easy to work into a conversation.

Giggle from both Sharyn and myself

Rick V 03-15-2012 02:29 AM

Beth got a good laugh at that comment as well, I already know where and how I am going to use that one. It involves my daughter. :D

Ah yes, a fathers duty to tease and pester :D

After a bit of a breakdown here, I composed myself and composed a nice message to my biological aunt. Mother****er this is hard.

Hooroo all,

I'm going to go watch something on the laptop and hopefully nod off. Y'all have a great day while I snore. Headed off towards the Coonawarra wine district tomorrow for a few days. Looking forward to tasting some nice red plonk.

slodave 03-15-2012 02:48 AM

Sleep well, Jeff. :) Enjoy the wine.

Outback Porsche 03-15-2012 02:48 AM

good luck Dave, can't be easy (I'm sure it wouldn't be for me if I was in your shoes)

slodave 03-15-2012 02:50 AM

Thank you, Jeff. I wish I could just ask the most important question in my life....

slodave 03-15-2012 02:57 AM

Who the **** am I?

Rick V 03-15-2012 03:08 AM

Night Jeff. Make sure to keep us informed of Sharron's adventures in wine land.

Dave, when you figure out the answer to that question please let the rest of us know, so that maybe we can decide an answer for ourselves. I learned a few years ago that self examination is not easy nor is it fun. I came to terms with some of my demons from the past and it has helped me, but that question still remains, for different reasons that yours.

slodave 03-15-2012 03:12 AM

Rick, when and if I find out, I could answer, but it would be of no help to you. Right now, when I look into the mirror, I see nobody.

Rick V 03-15-2012 03:20 AM

We need to get you some of that stuff they used in the old movie The Emerald Forrest, for some reason when I was having the same struggle that scene kept playing in my mind. Part of my drinking was because of these questions. I learned a great deal through my questions, but the most important thing I learned is that who I am today is not who I will be tomorrow and the only thing I can say is I know who I was yesterday.
You are a few steps ahead of me because I have yet to figure out how to sneak up on a mirror, either that or you are a vampire. Now that would be cool!!

slodave 03-15-2012 03:26 AM

There's a reason I have always preferred my steak rare. ;)

I can relate , since mummum got preggers at 17, real dad is unknown
steph dad who i thought was my real dad ran off at my 13.. and is now missing.
I have more brothers and sisters(3 or 4) i have never met, then i have sisters i know in person(2)

I gave up on that question, cause it ain't worth the headache.
I decided i'll be who i want to be, not who or what or where my dipchit parents came from.
And i'll get along with those in my family i get along with, and frankly i can't care less about those that i don't get along with..

slodave 03-15-2012 05:57 AM

Stijn, I'm very sorry for your position non-the-less.

I hear you. I am, who I am. I understand that. :) I still have a hole.

Once again I feel so lucky to have had normal middle American parents. They were married for over 54 years before my mom died. Dad will be 82 in two weeks.

I never had to wonder if I was loved. We moved a lot since dad was an Air Force officer. We were never rich but never had to worry about food & shelter. I knew if I screwed up I would get a spanking but I never worried about abuse.

My childhood was not Leave it to Beaver, but it was close. My mom never vacuumed wearing a fancy dress, pearls and high heels like Beaver's mom.

GH85Carrera 03-15-2012 06:01 AM

Good morning folks.
