The company I work for had me quit making PDF forms you could fill out and email back because it took too much time to build the form.

Hey at least the rain held off for the weekend. Usually is seems to rain on the weekend and Monday is clear and beautiful.

RKDinOKC 03-19-2012 06:25 AM

We do need the rain.

I wonder now why anyone that really needs a form filled out would not have a web site to take the information. The client has to and fill it out and mail it, then the other side needs to at a minimum file that form somewhere. Most likely they enter the information into their own computers.

RKDinOKC 03-19-2012 07:33 AM

Hey, watch it! Your wife asked me to make a web site for people to download forms from.

At Kimray ALL receipts are scanned into the system as a PDF with a specific scanner program. Even if the receipt is electronic. If electronic, email or pdf, they print it out then scan it back in. It has to do with the way the scanner reads and files the data into the system.

Azzy, those print only PDF files are annoying. I hate them as well. I got one once from PCA national that did not even allow anyone to fill in the blanks on the computer. I was supposed to just print it and fill it in by hand. I just imported it into PhotoShop and filled in the blanks. I even edited the layout an made it all fit on one page by eliminating all the stuff that did not apply to us. I scanned my signature and dropped that into place. I saved it as a PDF and emailed it back to them. I refused to waste my money on postage.

They even replied wanting me to mail in in. I told them to print it out and mail it to themselves if they needed something from the mail man.

LOL!

it seems that i am not the only one with PDF woes.

good morning, gents and lady.

svandamme 03-19-2012 08:48 AM

i do the exact same thing, i have the worst handwriting , so they should be glad that i'm making it readable.. And if they want it sent.. i'll send it by fax , which is a legal , tracable way of sending stuff.

RKDinOKC 03-19-2012 09:05 AM

The really sad part is that Adobe makes a PDF forms server that captures the data into a real database from PDF forms users can download. When they finish the form it sends the data to the server. The only problem is...It is way too freakin expensive for any company to even consider using.

nynor 03-19-2012 09:15 AM

okay, off to the shooting range to relax. then, more reloading.

Yea, but that is for a bunch of old retired folks to use.

Well, my paperwork for the state is done and in a priority flat rate envelope on its way to columbia......probably have to go up there in a few weeks for an interview.....

GH85Carrera 03-19-2012 12:02 PM

Columbia?

Are ya gonna get a job in the drug smuggling business?

I hear kidnapping is lucrative in Columbia as well.

Be careful, they don't trust Americans!

svandamme 03-19-2012 12:06 PM

That would be Colombia South Africa..

me thinks he's talking about Columbia as in

Columbia (Alabama)
Columbia (California)
Columbia (Illinois)
Columbia (Kentucky)
Columbia (Louisiana)
Columbia (Maryland)
Columbia (Mississippi)
Columbia (Missouri)
Columbia (New Jersey)
Columbia (North Carolina)
Columbia (Pennsylvania)
Columbia (South Carolina) << Capital of the state where he lives?
Columbia (South Dakota)
Columbia (Tennessee)
Columbia (Virginia)
Columbia (Washington)

HHI944 03-19-2012 12:12 PM

Geez, I throw in humor and you think I am serious? Like he was going to mention a trip to South America. Not Africa.

svandamme 03-19-2012 12:21 PM

GH85Carrera 03-19-2012 12:55 PM
