One for mike.... Don't think she's for sale though.

it's even the right color. if i get the one up north next week, it's getting wrapped. unsure of what color im going to do it in

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:01 AM

Stick to the colors the vinyl comes in. They can print it any color, but the print wont hold the color as well as the vinyl. Stored inside, the good wrap vinyl should be good for 7-10 years.

Back to studying stats....

Embraer 05-04-2012 12:02 AM

yeah, there's a shop here in LA that's supposed to be THE place to get it done. they do Hexis and 3M. Hexis has Kiwi Green which is very similar to the Krypton Green above. Part of me wants to do it Matte Army Green, as well.

nice sounding elise...

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:04 AM

FWIW, if I was doing it I wouldn't use any film but 3m. I've been around vinyl for all my life, never heard of Hexis....

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:05 AM

I bet the forum goes down again.... Active users has been climbing for the last 10 mins... Not a good sign

Embraer 05-04-2012 12:09 AM

hexis is a european company...supposed to be the best over there. the 3M matte olive drab would be pretty sweet. my main thing is just protecting the original paint. a black car in the desert is a disaster waiting to happen

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:13 AM

Hmm, just odd that none of our suppliers carry them. We mainly use 3M or Arlon. Just make sure it's a cast film, not a calendered film. The latter has a greater tendency to shrink. The Hexis wrap film appears to be cast.

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:14 AM

And fwiw, I'm not a green fan.... I'd go with krypton, before MO though...

Make sure you keep your battery mount in check. Had an Elise autocross locally, the battery came loose and dented the body from the inside.

porsche4life 05-04-2012 12:18 AM

Ouch!

svandamme 05-04-2012 12:33 AM

I need more naps , i'm tired..Feel completely worn out.
After today ,1 more week of grind, then i got 3 weeks off.

slodave 05-04-2012 12:36 AM

Do you have a some what structured holiday schedule like Germany? Those that are single get vacation before those that have children (married).

svandamme 05-04-2012 12:44 AM

First to order it gets it.. but i tend to take my time off when nobody else does anyway.
That way i win twice : i get to work in school holidays , there's less traffic then..
