Wait! WHAT?

Are you saying the new iOS is going to kill off my email on the iPhone? I will have to contact my email administrator and ask about it. ;)

Porsche-poor 09-22-2017 10:31 AM

better be careful or the dud will tell you to administrate this #$@#!!!

RKDinOKC 09-22-2017 12:11 PM

Kerio says it still works that the problem is with the http2 protocol used on the Outlook 2016 servers.

GH85Carrera 09-22-2017 01:07 PM

Argh!

I just put the last pad of checks in my checkbook for my personal account. I don't write many checks. In fact I received my last order of checks two years ago and it was just one box. So the minimum is a 2 year order and the current pad will last a couple of months or more.

I went to the credit union's web site and logged in as usual. Clicked the link for order new checks. It is a separate site. Right off the bat, it defaults to duplicate checks and wants to start the check number at 3001. Nope, not gonna do it. So I change the check number and the check design is some high security expensive one. Nope, change to plain blue, reset the check number once again. Wow, the price doubled. Ah, they change it to duplicate checks and 2 boxes. Nope, I want one box and plain blue dang it. OK one more time, WTF look at the price. Whoops wrong check number, so I start over. One last try, plain blue, one box, no damn duplicates start at the right check number. WTF, no damn it, one box, and for sure not express delivery for $27 bucks shipping. Ah ha, change it to one box and standard 2 week delivery. Bingo $18 for the plain blue single checks delivered in 2 weeks. YEA!

I am set for checks until December of 2019 or so. TADA.

RKDinOKC 09-22-2017 02:06 PM

Glen, you guys can update your iOS. Did mine and no problems with Kerio.

Also...

IT'S THE WEEKEND!!

GH85Carrera 09-22-2017 02:13 PM

OK, my phone has not asked me about it as yet. I will do it this weekend.

Porsche-poor 09-22-2017 02:38 PM

Good thing its the weekend or Glen might pop a fuse.

GH85Carrera 09-22-2017 07:06 PM

Naaaa.

I just post on the thread and feel all better. ;)

RKDinOKC 09-22-2017 08:05 PM

Don't think Glen drinks pop. He's a tea or beer man.

GH85Carrera 09-23-2017 07:01 AM

Morning all.

I am off to the final meeting about the car show next week. Last year the Porsche club invited the Mercedes club to be partners in our charity car show. The PCA club is laid back and a bunch of guys that do very little pre planning or meetings. The Mercedes club is organized like a German government bureau. We have had 6 or 8 meetings, committees and even an agenda. I have to admit it is a better system, just more work up front.

You can’t even post the names of several real places in Austria.

pete3799 09-23-2017 11:11 AM

I've heard of Splitsville......but that was long ago and far away.

Jim Richards 09-23-2017 11:54 AM

From back in your beatnik days, Pete? :D

RKDinOKC 09-23-2017 12:05 PM

Slapout, Oklahoma is a intersection with a gas station and 4 way stop.

It started as a road side grocery store made from a converted chicken coup when they put the highway thru in 1905. It is in the sparsely populated area in the panhandle of Oklahom, and was originally called Nye, OK. A tornado knocked the Nye sign down and wasn't replaced. People including the owner's daughter called it slapout because the store was always "slapout" of what they wanted. Slapout stuck as the official name.

RKDinOKC 09-23-2017 02:41 PM

Think I may give all the extra stuff from my Mom an Bro I have to the Salvation Army instead of trying to sell anything. Don't know if it would be worth the effort to try to sell it.

GH85Carrera 09-23-2017 03:47 PM

Yea, old clothes and personal items have little real value unless they were owned by someone famous. Your mom was a great lady, but not real famous.

My wife went with me to the meeting about next week's car show. I was expecting it to take about an hour and then we would go to eat in Bricktown entertainment district. The meeting was done in 30 minutes so it was just 10:30 and she did not want to walk around or ride the boat on the canal. So off to the house we went. On the way she siad we could drive up to Guthrie and eat at there. We came up on a massive traffic jam that we could see was over two miles long so I got off the interstate and we tried to go to a local BBQ place that just opened a new store. The lights were off and it was after opening time. I guess the employees did not come in. She did not want a hot dog at Sam's so we tried a burger joint and finally managed to hunt and gather lunch.

Dang we lead exciting lives. ;)

RKDinOKC 09-23-2017 10:30 PM

Didn't know a BBQ place had a new place anywhere. Then again I don't get out much.

The clothes stuff my sisters tossed (didn't even give them Salvation Army or anything and most of her stuff was only a couple of years old).

I gots books and knick knacks type stuff. Queen size solid walnut bedroom suit, was new in the early 60's not sure what it's worth. Got one carved wooden plate worth $75.

A couple of sewing machine cabinets with a singer sewing machine probably only worth $25 each. Have one cabinet and singer machine I want to keep because I do know how to use it. But know could get a newer one that does a whole lot more with all the embroidery type stuff which I would actually more apt to use.

GH85Carrera 09-24-2017 01:41 PM

Fun morning for me. I got the yard mowed and trimmed and weeds killed with Roundup.

RKDinOKC 09-24-2017 03:52 PM

I keep the cracks in the cul de sac turn in front of the house roundupped. Makes the neighborhood look a little nicer not to have grass and weeds growing in the cracks in the asphalt. Neighborhood association petitioned to have the street re-asphalted this summer, but haven't heard if anything resulted from it.

RKDinOKC 09-24-2017 08:00 PM

Shhh, don't tell anyone, especially that vacation man Jim, that Monday starts in 2 hours!

It is kinda difficult for me to boycott the NFL since don't watch, attend, or even keep uo with the games in the first place.
So are boycotters just not watching, or turning off their cable subscriptions?

GH85Carrera 09-25-2017 07:16 AM

Yea, I have been boycotting all major league "sports" or games. Can't care any less about watching other people play a game.

Good Monday morning all. We had a project to fly this weekend. Saturday was perfect weather and we had some weird laptop issue and it did not want to talk to the camera. So 1.2 hours of wasted airplane rental time. Sunday was mostly overcast. It was do it or lose it time. The pilot flew it once and it was cloud shadows on the ground in spots. Then the clouds parted and he flew it a second time and the clouds were just outside the project. Like in Gumball rally "what is behind me does not matter" and what is outside the project does not matter. Whew, we got it and it looks great. My computer processed the data last night and the new CPU cooler kept everything nice on cool baby cool, just like me. ;)

Porsche-poor 09-25-2017 07:18 AM

morning all. Well we got dad moved only a few oops. Found a broken statue and the shower rod ends got knocked off.

The weekend capper was last night went out to walk the dog and 5 houses down I found the little old neighbor lady sitting on her front step holding a rag to her head. She had fallen and banged her head on the concrete pretty good. Lucky that my wife works with her son so we called him. Still waiting on the outcome.

RKDinOKC 09-25-2017 08:06 AM

That's great having Pops closer. Hope he settles in well.

At least the neighbor lady was able to get up!

GH85Carrera 09-25-2017 09:02 AM

I need MORE POWER!

Working with 4 GB data sets needs a SSD hard drive. I guess that will be the next upgrade.

While waiting for the files to copy from one computer to the other I went outside to hunt a mole. The little bastage is making a tunnel along the sidewalk of of the west garden and I guess he burrowed under the wide driveway and now is going along the curb. We bough some of the poison gummy worms that are supposed to kill em off. At least I will not have to bury the critter.

If he went to the back yard the 4 legged mole hunters would really love to dig him up and dispose of the body with joy. They would for sure need a bath afterwards. A dachshund would love the fun of mole hunting.

I don't watch much sports, let alone buy jerseys of my favorite sports team. This week we have a directors meeting and we were instructed to wear jeans and our favorite sports team jersey. Hmm. I wonder if I could wear the one from our Muay Thai gym. Otherwise it will have to be an automotive sports manufacturer.

RKDinOKC 09-25-2017 10:40 AM

Get a shirt printed that shows looking through a rifle scope looking at a silhouette of a person. Under it is says.

I hunt people.
It's okay though,
I eat what I kill.

Get one from a racing ream. You will have the only real SPORT jersey there. The rest are just game jerseys.

I saw this today and instantly thought of the azzhole I used to work for.

http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1506363108.jpg

I wonder why?

RKDinOKC 09-25-2017 11:27 AM

I would have to buy a jersey cause I have none.

Would be tempted to go around the office taking a knee though.
And say "Whack wives matter"

instant trip to HR.

RKDinOKC 09-25-2017 01:35 PM

Oh, I know...

Wear a racing suit with Hans device and carry the helmet. Every once in a while take a knee and say "Track Lives Matter."

Race lives matter?

I like that. My HR department thinks it is funny. Same with the janitor, lawn guy and the moron sitting behind the keyboard. I need to reduce the staff.

RKDinOKC 09-25-2017 07:03 PM

If someone that rides bicycles is a cyclist, is some that races cars a racist?

Morning all.

A rainy day in store for us. 67 degrees is nice. It feels like fall.

Porsche-poor 09-26-2017 06:52 AM

morning all. Its fall here. I might already have to put the 911 to bed for the winter.

RKDinOKC 09-26-2017 07:16 AM

Good Morning. It ain't no Monday no more.

Woohoo we are getting some much needed rain!

Thinking very seriously about training Pepper to be Service Dog. Specifically a Diabetic Alert Dog.

One of the reasons is...

I have IBS and have episodes were I can't be very far from a toilet for several hours at a time. When I get up and rush to the bathroom I tell her I am going to the restroom or I gotta go do my stuff. Sometimes she is laying across my lap and I say I gotta go to the bathroom and he gets down and heads to the bathroom. While I'm there Pepper stands in front of me and says Hello and I Love You to get petted and scratched on.

Anyway, if one of these episodes starts at night while I'm asleep, or I fall asleep durning and episode and don't wake up in time to get to the restroom. I grumble and complain while cleaning up. The last couple of weeks Pepper has been waking me up with plenty of time for me to make it to the toilet. Even if I fall asleep watching TV or at my computer. Thought she was waking me let her out, needed water in her dish, or wanted me to make room on the bed for her, but instead she goes to my bathroom.

So...

Googled Service Dogs. First there is no registry or tests that a dog must qualify for to be a service dog. The only legal rules are that you have a problem and the dog or miniature horse performs a function that helps with that problem. Also that proprietors can ask that the service animal be removed from their establishment if it relieves itself, is barking, or is not behaving and bothering other people or animals.

You can buy service dog certificates, but they aren't valid. And you can buy vests, which help to get the dog in the door, but it's behavior is what makes it a real service dog.

There does however seem to be some training for Diabetic Alert Dogs that the American Diabetic Association provides vest patches for services dogs, and the vests also include pockets for testing, insulin and sugar. There still is not a registry, but the patch can only be gotten from the ADA from an approved Diabetic Alert Dog trainer. Trained DA Dogs cost around $30K. The is a program you can train your dog yourself that is $2000 and will make you an ADA trainer and get your dog that patch.

I haven't really taken many vacations because of my IBS problem has gotten so much worst since the foot ordeal. I took one week and a half vacation that turned out to be more embarrassment than it was worth. So thinking if I train Pepper to be a recognized service dog it would be really great to be able to take vacations and not have any embarrassing events.
