Even I did fine in public speaking. All I remember from it is the hot chicks in the class. I wrote a nice review for one of them's speeches and she was happy about that. :)
I did not buy the textbook, took no notes, and still got like an A-.

Tweeze, I do enjoy my time here. I wish I could stay and do grad school and work more on FSAE but I don't have the money for that at the moment. :(

Ha ha. That sounds like me and statistics. I slept every day in that class and my prof never said a word. I set the curve on every test in that class. Good times.

And good, Max. I always said if I won the lottery, I would be a forever student. I love to learn and the environment at college.

And the money thing? Again, real life sometimes sucks. You can't get scholarships in life for being a good person. Although you can get a good paying job, although I have to admit it's a little harder than submitting an essay and application form saying how great I am. ;)

Holy crap child care is almost impossible to find that doesn't cost more than I make. How the hell do parents today manage?

RKDinOKC 05-07-2013 10:50 AM

Good news, getting surgery on my foot next Tuesday and won't have to wear Frankenstein shoes!

It is really expensive. I have two in it. It costs an arm and a leg. About the same as my mortgage payment a month. That is the first expense I cut out when I got laid off. That's why all stay at home moms should be valued as working employees. I am lucky and stayed home until my youngest was almost three.

And that's when my ex and I make OK money. I don't know how other people manage. I really don't.

Try a nanny. Works better than drop off child care. Your kids sick you stay home. With a nanny thats not an option.

tweezers74 05-07-2013 11:45 AM

I tried a nanny several times. Yes, it works well but in order to find a good one is almost impossible. And most times, I find they are very expensive if I want them full day, more than daycare. And they are usually young and the turnover was high. They either moved on to a better paying job or went back home for the summer for college. Difficult. I sometimes found moms that wanted to take care of other kids but for me it was hard because they didn't want to drive my sons to school. Rick might find it easier to do so.

I will agree its tuff. We had a rare exper withh a nanny. she stayed form when connor was 9 months till he was in 1st grade. Still drops by and comes to his shows.

My fiance is currently a Nanny and a damn good one. She comes with lots of letters of recommendation and tons of experience. She loves what she does, but agrees that child care is expensive. That's why when we start having kids, she is just going to be a stay at home mom. We would just be taking her pay and handing it to someone else. With her staying home we have 100% control of how our children will be raised.

Rick,

I pop in here every few days mostly because I like to read your posts, which are often funny to the point I get a bit jealous of your wit.

So it goes that I read your post on the grandchildren...let me echo what Azzarule wrote: We are close and we can come to you if you need help or a break. Or come here...Charmaine can watch the grand kids while we go play on the water:D

Mi casa su casa. We have plenty of room and room to move.

And guns!

Thanks Paul (and everybody else) it really does make me feel good for the outpouring of support.
I think I have actually managed to hammer out some details that will make everything fall into place.
My next hurdle is going to be Getting Beth back on her feet when the kids go to live with their father.
Please note custody belongs to Beth and I so we can, at anytime remove them from the home if we have to, and at gunpoint just because it much more fun that way.
