Dinner break... Ready to go back on with the pump... Whats your opinion on sealant on the gasket rick?

Is it supposed to ring Sid?
My opinion in sealant is that if both surfaces are smooth I don't use sealant. I only use it when one of the surfaces are is pitted.

porsche4life 04-25-2010 06:11 PM

I called you once yesterday and once today.... VM both times...... You not save my number?

Dad voted for a little sealant on the pump side.... Did it... was sliding the pump back on.... Realized it was the pump without the guard rail.... So..... Guess pelican is getting a pump with a gasket sealed on back....

I would however, keep this on the down low a bit.
Tell it on an need to know basis....
(WE need to know, of course, Girl C might not.... ;))

Oh yeah, the rest of you, GOOOOOOOOD MOOOOOOORNING SUNSHINES!!!

porsche4life 04-25-2010 10:02 PM

That can't be the only pic either.... You know my email.... Send them over....

livi 04-25-2010 10:59 PM

Morning, people.

porsche4life 04-25-2010 11:01 PM

Ok gents.... Going to get a new pump rushed here..... Hopefully I can get it going.... What do I do if I don't? Would rather not show up to prom in the Corolla....

Geronimo '74 04-25-2010 11:27 PM

Prom's about you and the chick, Sidney, not about the car you drive.
Tell her you left the Porsche at home because you're not the type to show off....
Impress her with other things, galantry, good manners, schlong length and girth...

porsche4life 04-25-2010 11:29 PM

I got all that covered G.... Just ticks me off to have a Porsche and not be able to take it to things like this.... I didn't get to take it to my senior prom due to a faulty injector.... Gimme a break...

porsche4life 04-26-2010 06:23 AM

You slackers!

GH85Carrera 04-26-2010 06:30 AM

Good morning guys.

It is good to be at work so I can rest. I had a very busy weekend. My wife is into planting mode. I have told her many times that I have dug more holes in the ground since I married her than I ever did when single. I fertilized the yard so now I can mow twice a week, oh goodie.

I had to recharge the A/C on my El Camino. It has been three years since I replaced the compressor. I obviously have a slow leak. The last compressor and re-charge lasted for 8 years and never did leak.

porsche4life 04-26-2010 06:33 AM

They sell cans of freon with stop leak stuff....Get one soon... Before freon becomes a controlled substance....

My dad made some holes in the garden yesterday.... Hardest work he did was moving from the drivers seat to the backhoe operators seat on his little tractor.... :p

RKDinOKC 04-26-2010 06:45 AM

Monday!! :(

GH85Carrera 04-26-2010 06:59 AM

I can't imagine using a product with stop leak for anything I own. Not in my engine, radiator or A/C system. It tends to gum up everything from what I read. I have no experience with the stuff.

porsche4life 04-26-2010 07:18 AM

Hey.... It made my AC cool again... I quite think it was worth it....

Class cancelled.... On the phone with PP

porsche4life 04-26-2010 07:29 AM

By the time I ship this wrong pump back.... Its gunna be a cool hundred dollar screw up... :(

GH85Carrera 04-26-2010 02:56 PM

Good afternoon guys. I am just posting to bump this back up.

porsche4life 04-26-2010 05:08 PM

Bump again.... Survived a monday at work.... Those are the most hectic.... Looks like I am going to take a defensive pistol class in the fall.... Need to find me a pistol in 9mm or larger..... hmm.... PPS or PPK if I have to buy?

Scratch that.... PPK is .380 just like the pk380....

Rick V 04-26-2010 05:10 PM

Forget a 9. IMO they are not worth the trouble, I would just as soon throw rocks atcha.

Schumi 04-26-2010 05:17 PM

I've had good experiences shooting a P99, if you want a 9MM.

As far as stopping power... I spent some brass through a Glock 21 .45 ACP at the range, thing felt solid as a rock and no bad guy is getting up after one of those in the chest.

There are people on this board who highly disprove of the Glock, however. And a 21 is surely not a good carry gun. Nightstand gun on the other hand, yes.
