It was something like 6 hours when I took the SAT....

I took standardized tests every year in grade school that they called SAT's but was a different acroynm. The real SAT I took once and did well. It took half a day as I remember, certainly no more than 8 hours. I also took the ACT and did better on it, I think that lasted all day since it had more sections than just reading, writing, and math.

I think your memories are getting foggy, you old guys. There's no freakin' way the SAT or ACT (or PSAT) took 6 or 8 hours to complete. Even if you had to walk uphill, both ways, in the snow, with no shoes to get there and back.

Maybe 3 hours. 4 hours, tops. But no way 6-8 hours.

slodave 10-16-2014 10:45 PM

The current SAT has a 3h45m time limit. This SAT was introduced in 2005. I think it took me 2.5 hours to complete.

A shift knob for a friend. Not easy to do. :D On the bright side, it really keeps me focused and my ADHD fades in the shadows while I am working.

Maple and walnut. When the final coat of poly is dry and it's polished, it'll have a deep glossy look to it.

Great work, Dave! You're really getting those down!

Well, made it to Singapore. Holy hell, is this place expensive. Not as bad as Norway, but worse than Europe, for sure. Debating on the Long Bar at Raffles for a Singapore Sling thing. Not sure I'm willing to lay down $25 US for a crap drink poured out of a pitcher just to say I did it.

That's it, I'm heading back to South Africa where I can actually afford to buy stuff!

I thought I saw something like this at the NY Museum of Modern Art.

Motion, that's good intel on Singapore for those of us who haven't been! I'd skip the drink and spend my money on local food and exploring the place. Enjoy your stay there!

morning its FRIDAY, woohoo the sun is shining and there is a bit of patchy fog, but Marilyn is going for a drive to work, but only for a few hours.

Dave, that gear nob is beautiful, a work of art, like I said I would like a Martini striped one please in the livery colours. How did that wood dyeing go?

Jeff, your one sick puppy if you play with that sheeet all day, that's all I'm saying.

time for work.

My kids used to reckon I was building little cities, especially when I'd bring home a fabricated one for them to have a sticky beak at. :D

It's nearly time for dodging kangaroos again (nearly hit one the other night ), and I'm about ready for a few beers.

Have a good'un peeeeples. SmileWavy

and Motion, I thought Singapore was overpriced as well, we stayed in some plush hotel, don't remember which one, on Orchid Road somewhere, and it was about 500 Aust a night, lovely huge rooms but, as we weren't paying I didn't mind living it up in style, only stayed two nights on the way through to Paris, but wasn't that fussed, an F1 GP would have made it bearable!! lol
