Thanks guys! She's still got radiation treatments ahead of those, but the worst part is over now!

That is great news. Not the radiation treatments, the operation went well part.

Sid, I figure all of this s*** is YOUR fault. You have posted too many things about warm weather and sitting by the pool. This is mother nature's way of giving you the finger. YOU messed up the weather for all of the states from the Texas panhandle all the way to Rick's house and up to Jim's.

It has to your fault. The weather is normally wonderful in Oklahoma in February! :p

Good news on the Mom, just don't let them put her on Tamoxafen, it causes strokes and dementia and they don't care because the patients don't die from cancer.

Jim Richards 02-23-2015 02:04 PM

That's great to hear, Sid!

Rick V 02-23-2015 03:19 PM

Evening Y'all,
Sid, great news, glad to hear it.
Brent, yes, look back at the picture I posted, that is the truck.
One of my coworkers said he wanted to see my Uzi and asked me to bring it in, so I did.
Late morning the owner asked me that was in the bag with the Uzi embroidered in it. I said my Uzi, he said no really whats in the bag, I said No really my Uzi, he rolled his eyes and walked off, not believing me. Some people.....

GH85Carrera 02-23-2015 03:26 PM

I guess he does not have an Uzi an figures you don't either. Silly feller.

Rick V 02-23-2015 03:35 PM

Very silly. :) Either that or he just didn't want to know

RKDinOKC 02-23-2015 04:10 PM

When I worked night shift a fellow worker an myself were planning to go quail hunting after work. At that time I was driving a GMC Jimmy and we were having cars and trucks broken into in the parking lot at night. I didn't want to leave my shotgun in the Jimmy so took it in to work. Walked into the supervisor's office with the shotgun, my supervisor looked up from his desk with a very startled look on his face and asked what I wanted. I said "I'd like to talk to you about a raise." He immediately said "You got it"

I then explained about going birding after work and not wanting to leave my gun in the Jimmy. He locked it in the tool cabinet. Then told me next time let him know cause he would like to go to. And there was a raise on my next paycheck.

Rick V 02-23-2015 04:36 PM

I like it

RKDinOKC 02-23-2015 05:21 PM

Those are purdy!

First Krav Mags class at the local place.......I may have neglected to mention that I've done Krav before :)

RKDinOKC 02-23-2015 06:10 PM

What's a Krav, is that like the drunk driving classes where they teach you how to drive drunk? Cause I've taken the drunk driving class, and I wasn't even ordered to either. Just for fun, and I got a discount on my auto insurance for it. I learned that if you aren't any taller than a cone and you see my backup lights come on...RUN!

HHI944 02-23-2015 06:19 PM

Krav Maga is Israeli combatives......it is NOT a martial art, because there is no art, no right and wrong way, just the goal of not dying. The owner/instructor is about my size so we were sparring partners after he realized that I'd taken Krav before......2 guys over 275lbs trying to kill each other makes for a tiring experience.

Have you pulled the pulleys off and checked the keys and keyways? Possible one of them is allowing the pulley to shift a bit?

Hoping the roads are cleared when I get there. My folks left a car for me in Yukon, so I will Uber it from the airport to there, and then drive the rest of the way home.

glad the operation went well. radiation = no fun.

the keys and such would have to be right, because when i set it back, it ran smooth as silk, until i fired it up the next morning. either the belt is damaged or i am doing something wrong or both. i think i must be doing something wrong.

that said, the belt is coming out for a look see and i'll check the keyway and woodruff on the lower shaft. i already took the upper off to get the belt rotated a bit.

it was fine, until i opened it up and adjusted the idler pulley. then things went sideways. i put it back in alignment (the bottom shaft was ~120 degrees out of phase), drove it 20 miles, it was fine. parked it overnight, started it up the next day for a trip to the store and it was immediately obvious that i had a very bad engine vibration that got worse with increased revs.

RKDinOKC 02-24-2015 01:12 AM

Oh boy, just got the FedEx confirmation. Wheels will be here Thursday.

It feels almost like Christmas, there is even snow on the ground.

Rick V 02-24-2015 02:17 AM

Okay Richard stop looking out the window, it isn't Thursday yet

Nice that you don't have to go through a metal detector every day when you go to work though.

Feeling good today, the first thing I did was extend my retirement training period by another four weeks.

Retirement training begins in 8 days and concludes on the 5th of may, woohoo!

I may almost be chilled enough to make it to the next retirement training in August.

fintstone 02-24-2015 03:46 AM

I am eligible to retire and pretty sure I can afford it since we are pretty frugal and have prepared pretty well...it is just hard to walk away from the good money after working for so little for most of my life. In my business, it is pretty hard to change your mind and come back...

Jim Richards 02-24-2015 04:35 AM

Hopefully, we're bailing out of the workforce in about 10 months.
