Cool my son just got a radio interview scheduled from Oregon about his music.
|
Cool! Does he know how to be interviewed? Not trying to be funny, he doesn't want it to come off bad.
|
he is a punk kid of 17!! No really I think he will do fine. He has been interviewed before with his other band and it went well. For 17 he is more mature than most of the kids his age.
He does have a sarcasm streak that will kill you if he is in the mood. |
I hope it leads to bigger opportunities for him.
Our first live radio interview was bad. I should have said less. |
time will tell. the cd release went well. he is looking to find permanent band members to fill the drumming and bass positions at this point.

I find it interesting the few singer/songwriters I've followed. They do something that makes them really popular, they sell a bunch and tour, then...They "explore a new sound," go all folky, loose it, then disappear. Especially the female artists.
Reminds me of a comment my Mom's cousin that was a successful painter/sculptor..."I don't paint the things I like to paint, I paint the stuff that sells." http://bostonavenueframetheavenuestu...neBavinger.jpg I can't afford any of his art. |
sounds about right. but she should paint the things that sell so she can paint the things she likes.
|
So, Salomon sells replacement kevlar cords for their lacing system.....Why? The soles of these stupid things wear out before the friggin kevlar is even broken in...
|
It's a HE and he was also an art professor at Oklahoma University.
He told me when I was very young if I wanted to be an artist to just start drawing and painting. And more importantly to not pay any attention to how it was supposed to be done because then it would be just like everyone else's stuff. I stopped painting when I couldn't figure out how to paint sky that looked like sky that wasn't cloudy. |
Sorry I read mom and used that.
Then he has a day job to make ends meet so he can play in the art of his choice as he sees fit. Smart man. |
Evening Y'all

Rick!
How are things? |
One of our favorite customers at the photo-lab was Orren Mixer.
http://www.aqha.com/Museum/Explore/Hall-of-Fame/People/M/Orren-Mixer.aspx He was just amazing and a super nice man. I had a waiting list that was decades long. He would only paint your horse if he liked you and the way you treated your horses. He was one of the finest men I ever had the honor to meet. He was an artist of top caliber. |
Garage sales huh? In this neck of the woods we call them yard sales. Beth wanted to have one last summer and asked if I would help, so I said sure, she brought the stuff out and when she went in to get a table and chair and other stuff I was busy loading it all into Peggy, I hauled it all off to good will, took the tax credit and went on about the rest of my day.
She also used to lie going to them and I thought I was gonna be slick, I informed her that her Miata was the only vehicle she could take to a yard sale, and that worked fime until she called me one day and told me I had to bring Peggy to the yard sale to pick up the stuff she just bought, She learned me good that day. |
On road trips in the 911 our car is PACKED full. Mrs Carrera know anything she buys will have to ride on the floorboard on her side. So far she has not brought home any more stuff. She does know that all antique shops are happy to ship it directly to you.

My wife can spot a sign with "Antiques" on it from over a mile.
|
My wife isn't typically lured by the siren song of an antique shop.
|
We just can't have good things.

And a Great Freakin Good Friday Morning!
May your ducks all be in a row. Unless you aren't hunting ducks, then let the noisy ba5tards find someplace else to waddle and quack. |
