Don't ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever ever listen to your wife when she replies "I don't want anything", when asked what she wants for Christmas. Don't even pretend you never got her anything.

Porsche-poor 12-14-2015 12:09 PM

been there, done that huh?

Outback Porsche 12-14-2015 12:11 PM

Um, look over there...

A squirrel!

Outback Porsche 12-14-2015 12:42 PM

Like most blokes, sometimes I'm playing with two dicks.

Coz I can't be that stupid playing with one. ;)

Dude, that is taught in the 1st year marriage classes.

That is right after the section: If you ask your wife if it is OK to go do an activity that she will not participate in and she answers "I don't care" she really does care and she will remember the day you went out with your buddies or bought that motorcycle or sports car and throw it back at you the rest of your life.

Just don't do it.

By the way, there is NO appliance that counts as a gift.

flipper35 12-14-2015 12:50 PM

OK David. I have decided I don't hate you but if you come to the midwest I will let you fly the Corsair but you have to show me your picture.

Outback Porsche 12-14-2015 12:52 PM

That goes for car seat covers too :(

I take a while to learn...

flipper35 12-14-2015 12:54 PM

Yet you are still married so you have a keeper wife.

Outback Porsche 12-14-2015 12:57 PM

Yep.

After 30 something years together I have come to realize she is a very patient woman.

If the gift comes with a 90 day guarantee or if plugs in, be very careful.

Bathroom scales, even the ones that don't plug in are not a good gift ever.

As a kid I gave my mom an ironing board cover. She acted like it was a wonderful present. Somehow looking back I think she was just been a nice mom. She did keep my hand print into plaster hanging on the wall at home for the rest of her life.

Speaking of Corsairs...

My wife just got a cutter to go on her computer. 2 plugs, one USB and one power. It was an early Christmas gift. To be sure, she picked it out so I know I was safe on that one. She says she isn't, but she is an electronic gizmo junkie.

Very cool David.

I've never priced out one of those... Always wondered if wouldn't be cheaper to buy a real plotter and some cheap control software. Maybe not as user friendly, but more robust and not limited to buying materials in that weird narrow size...

Then again, I'm used to being around the plotters that start at $2k or more... ;)

GH85Carrera 12-14-2015 01:55 PM

There are indeed exceptions.

One lady I worked with was truly thrilled to get an soldering iron!

She was big into the stained glass hobby and her husband searched around and found a "professional" grade soldering iron for stained glass. She was really happy about it.
