Took 3 trips with the Cayenne full to haul the Mom's stuff I don't want. But, there is now room to park two vehicles in my 2 car garage again!

Two boxes were full of nothing but ribbons and bows for wrapping presents. Most were left overs and saved off packages. A roll of wrapping paper and bag of bows around holiday time is not worth taking up the space of two boxes the size of file cabinet drawers.

There was on big box full of thread for doing cross stitch stuff. Don't think I will be doing any cross stitch.

Also had a lot of stuff like table cloths, aprons, placemants that Mom had inherited that don't mean anything to me cause I never knew who's they were, and frankly they looked pretty old, tattered, and completely out of any kind of style.

I've got two Singer sewing machines that have 100 year anniversary tags on them and they are in cabinets that Mom has had since I can remember. Need to find out which one works best and get rid of the other one. Think a singer sewing machine with cabinet is only worth about $25.

I can sew. Made 75 pairs of cool seat belt shoulder pads with embroidery Porsche logos on them for the club to give away in the gift bags at our charity car show.

They are denier nylon and wrap around the belt with velcro holding them together so they will easily slide up and down the belt. They are padded with closed cell foam to keep the belt from cutting into your shoulder even when the belt is very very tight for autocrossing. And the side that is against your shoulder is non-slip rubber so it doesn't slide around on your shoulder when the belt is loose enough to be comfortable for regular driving. Got the idea from a computer messenger bag strap and pad I really liked.

The model in the picture was a co-worker and wouldn't you know it, the one day I ask her to model the pads she wears a sports bra and kinda slumped forward so she wouldn't have her normal seat belt cleavage. Don't think she understood the idea of "selling" the pads.

It was kind of funny while I was in a rush to get all the pads made before the car show I was working on a project with her and needed to so some final editing and proof a monthly publication. She agreed to come over an help me make pads to help make both deadlines. Thought it sounded great because I have two sewing machines. However, turned out she couldn't sew worth a darn and ended up being no help whatsoever. Assumed if a woman told someone she could help do some sewing she would know how to sew!

Today was the first day of my funky thermostat that cools the house extra 3 hours before 2pm, then lets it warm up until 7pm. Had my thermostat set at 73°F. It cooled it down to 70°F. It got up to 74°F by 3pm and pretty much has stayed there. It's supposed to resume at 7pm and the AC just kicked on. Comparing my usage from 11am to 7pm last week without the Alert cooling then staying off and todays usage with about the same temperatures. Letting it get cooler then shutting off all afternoon and getting up to 74°F saved me $0.30 today. Says I used $2 today and dropped my estimate of my bill this month by $8.

Wonder if there is some way I could piggy back the sensor that operates the burner on the hot water tank, or install a sensor, it would be interesting to know what the temp of the water in my hot water heater is and what happens when I start using it and cold water comes in to replace it.

Good Tuesday morning all. We made it through Monday.

We got a new monitor and the glasses to use with it to do 3D. Google Earth now comes up in 3D. It looks cool seeing the mouse floating in the air above the ground. The Grand Canyon is cool looking.

We did not spend that money to look at Google Earth of course. We are looking at a new software package to do the photogrammetry and aerial triangulation and mapping we do. The system we had been using for the last 15 years is very cludgy and archaic with horrible tech support.

The new system is a ton faster and better. Now we get to learn an all new software package. The logo in screen is cool. It has the Earth with the moon moving around it and the entire thing is 3D.

New Toys! Sounds fun.

Feels like expecting Santa when I was 5, that was when I got my train set mounted on a 4x6 sheet of plywood on rollers so it would roll under my bed.

Good luck on getting it today. Nice color. I was just catching up on your discussion. I personally like the black grills on the turbo (mine has them)...as the grills are bigger and it looks more menacing (and highlights the fact that it is a Turbo)...the painted ones seem more like a sleeper. I also like the clear lights...but not on most other cars. It was an option, not aftermarket...so that always counts bonus points with me.

Hope it is every bit as much fun as you anticipate.

It will be interesting having a sports car, the 928 GTS and an SUV with the same 0-60 times.

And the pepper wagon can still do the 0-60 in the rain while the 928 is spinning the tires!

and they both have a killer engine note.

Morning, y'all. We are finally starting to talk to landscape architects about re-doing our yard, starting with the back yard. We're excited to whip the yard into shape, so, I hope we end up choosing the right person/company.

Jim, are you going to go with green things for the yard or the desert look? I am sure water rationing is always a factor.

Finding a good contractor is always vital.

Talked to transport company, she says the driver says between 4pm and 6pm today.

We'll continue to have green things, but to a lesser extent. The original owners had a lot of shrubbery...a freaking overgrown jungle of weeds and plants. This was a very (painfully) high maintenance yard. Today, there are no plants in our back yard. We'll add in only what makes sense. We're hoping we'll have a more efficient irrigation system implementation, too. We can't wait to get started.

I am Jealous. would love to re-landscape my yard. It has been severely neglected since my foot thing, the last 4 years. What is there is overgrown, undernourished, underwatered, and most all the trees in my back yard have been butchered to death by the powerline trimmers. For some reason their 15 and 20 ft are more like 40 to 50 ft.

Had 3 landscape companies out this spring to give get extimates and they never called back (that's just how bad my yard is).

what did I win? Life time access the greens?
