My favorite bartender at my usual wednesday night spot got laid off.

Ruined my week.

I have become a complete Stargate nerd. I gotta admit it now. I always loved the movie, but Stargate Universe is the only show I have to consistently watch as soon as possible. I watched a bit of SG1 because of Macgyver, never watched Atlantis because it seemed like too much of a commercialized spinoff, but SG:U is great; it has Robert f*****ng Carlyle.

Went back and watched the original movie this weekend, total nerdgasm.

I'm to the point where I like to frequently throw in Stargate facts as if they were actual scientific facts into conversation- i.e., people at work discussing military base in the mountains in Colorado - "You know, that's where they keep the Stargate...." "...What?" *nods head*

or, the subject of superconductors "You know, the Stargate is made from a superconductor..."

How does a bartender get laid off?

she couldn't work her hours. which are wednesday nights.

This bar has a different bartender every night- all hot chicks between 25-35. its a small but well known bar and so I'm sure there is a line of women bartenders willing to work if one can't make her day.

Taya, it seems, couldn't do wednesdays anymore and so she's gone. :(

Maybe its a sign you shouldn't be a regular at the bar.... ;)

At the moment we have over 530 kilometer of traffic jams here in Belgium.
That may not seem much to you guys but you have to take in account that our country is only 255 kilometer wide from left to right.....

Woke up at nine, drinking coffee, taking it easy. I'll start working soon at my own pace...

Lets get this straight.. Your chairs get to ride out the winter in the warm, dry coziness of the basement , while the table has to freeze all Winter? What gives?

The seats and the backs of the chairs are some kind of fabric, nylon or something like that.
They are weather and UV resistant and stuff, but for some reason my cleaning lady puts them in the basement every winter.
The table is glas and aluminum, easier to clean, I guess.
In the spring, she'll put everything back so I can have my breakfast outside.

You get any seasonal birds in that bird house? Or is it just a feeder?

that's a feeder, I just put some birdseed in there. Pretty popular nowadays...
All small birds are welcome, no pigeons though, I hate pigeons.
