Constant speed props are driven by oil pressure so there are a lot of pieces in there. You would hate to lose oil pressure in a plane. Hard to just pull over somewhere and take a look. Of course Oklahoma is a little more open and flat than someplace like Virginia.

Yea when we flew up to Wichita it was astonishing how many airports were within a few miles of each other. And they have an Air Force Base as well. The ground is totally flat in that part of the world, and not exactly hilly around here.

My partner is up flying a project in Montana right now. It is a town so small, they don't have overnight delivery there. They do have a nice enough airport, and a town with a motel. Of course he has no car so he called the motel and asked if there was someone to pick him up. The owner of the motel came and picked him up. He wanted to go to dinner and go back to the airport. The motel manager just gave him the car keys and said use her car.

Can't beat the service there!

Hugely influential Palestinian Marwan Barghouti was facing intense scrutiny for allegedly cheating on a hunger strike while in an Israeli jail. Barghouti was leading a strike movement to draw attention to the Palestinian cause, but the Israeli Prison Service attempted to shame him by releasing footage of him sneaking cookies and a chocolate bar, as if he was in the world's most brutal fat camp.

The images soon appeared all over the region's social media. The appropriate response from Pizza Hut's Israeli Facebook account would be nothing, because why on Earth would it ever be something? But somehow they simply couldn't resist, and soon sent edited images of Barghouti to their 100,000 followers, saying, "Barghouti, if you're going to break a strike, isn't pizza better?"

mmmm, Pizza. Was thinking about pizza for dinner this evening. Think will go ahead and order one.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2018 06:23 AM

Good Freakin Morning.

The hunger strike didn't last very long here. No more than heard about it, pizza was mentioned and it was over. Thinking maybe the Palestinian cause didn't mean that much, to me anyway. Thought maybe a hunger strike of not eating anything but chocolate chip cookies and snickers bars might be fun...then PIZZA.

Without getting into PARF, the Palestinian problem would be over instantly if they would accept that Israel is here to stay, and just lay down their weapons. That will happen right after Congress starts working only in the interest of the American people, and not just to get reelected and get more power and money.

I had to fill in the 24 page form BS-123456 with the HR department and take off 10 minutes for work this morning to go do another sprinkler repair for the bosses wife. This one was super easy, and I would have done it last night if I knew how easy. Usually any plumbing issue involves multiple trips to the hardware store and many hours to fix a small issue. I don't know what went wrong to have such an easy fix.

The HR department will now have to spend several hours to properly file the BS-123456 forms with the appropriate departments heads and file the requisite forms with the IRS and OSHA.

Didn't mean to get all PARFy, was just saying the hunger strike options offered had a lot more effect than the political statement for me.

I just thought it was funny they caught him and Pizza Hut there joked about eating pizza instead of cookies.

Mornin’, y’all. It’s gonna be in the 80s here today. Sheesh! On a more positive note, my wife made raspberry pancakes this morning. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...ys/lickout.gif

flipper35 08-07-2018 09:28 AM

Jim, you are supposed to tell us BEFORE she makes them so we can be there. :)

Jim Richards 08-07-2018 09:30 AM

There’s still one left!

flipper35 08-07-2018 09:38 AM

Sure, now that i put lunch in!

RKDinOKC 08-07-2018 10:51 AM

My Dad used to take pancakes dipped in chocolate syrup for lunch at school. Said he could trade for any lunch he wanted.

I have a case of oil filters for our 182T on the way from Aircraft Spruce. Those suckers are 25 bucks each. Plus 26 bucks to ship them.

I just looked and the oil filter for my 911 is 10 bucks. $7 for my Elky filter.

RKDinOKC 08-07-2018 11:57 AM

Last 3 oil filters for my 928 I got free at the 3rd Coast 928 GTG in Marble Falls Texas. If you include gas and hotel they were way expensive.
One per trip. Comes up to about $265 each. Guess the full set of Koni Red externally adjustable shocks I won one year more than made up for it though.

Hooked up the 2nd 27in display to my laptop. This is a LOT of screen.
The interesting thing is no one document can be bigger than one screen.

That must be an Apple thing. On a Windows machine that is easy if the displays are the same resolution. On my computer since the smaller display is 1600x900 but the big monitor is 3840x2160 anything displayed on the little monitor is "zoomed in" or enlarged until if I slide a window over to it until the display fits it to fit the resolution.

If I could find a monitor that runs at 3840x2160 and be only 21 inches wide I would order it right now.

flipper35 08-07-2018 02:11 PM

I see a lot of people turn the monitors in portrait mode for document management.

I think the filters for the Cobra are $13 is all. It runs about 120psi oil pressure at startup so no cardboard end caps for that motor.

GH85Carrera 08-07-2018 02:22 PM

My challenge is the resolution of the main monitor. I guess I could run it at a lower resolution to match the small monitor. That just seems backwards, and I can't bring myself to run at a lower resolution just for that. Evidently only monitors made for medical equipment get to be small and 4K. Or phones and iPads.

Hopefully some monitor maker will see the market does exist and make one the works for me.
