Well, I was traveling a lot for 4 years out of an engineering firm as a project manager. Then had a baby girl in december of 2017. Started a new job 7 months ago as a Power and Steam manager at a local mill to cut down on traveling. Finishing up a remodel job on my house to get ready to sell it this spring to get something newer and with more land.
wow that is a lot. Well welcome back. Enjoy the non-travel time. Congrats on the baby girl.
Thanks. she is awesome. Once we sell the house and move, I will be taking the 911 down to uni-body and redoing the entire thing. Few upgrades of course. Can't wait.
sounds like fun and here I am deciding if I want to keep mine or sell it to help pay for college.
Congrats on the new munchkin, Andy! It sounds like things are going well for you.

I get Easter off, but I generally don't work Sundays anyway. Then Memorial Day is the next actual holiday off.
3" of snow yesterday, 3-6 more on Tuesday. Might get in the mid-30s by Friday. Jim, I don't need the cold, but can you send it to a specific person that I know that really deserves it? I could use a break from them. Then again, they probably won't stay home anyway. |
Congrats Andy on having a life!

The bosses wife came in and made me haul her and a small table and 4 chairs to a guy that specializes in old furniture. The table is a table her great grandmother bought. The chairs are whet we sit at for the kitchen table. All of them were getting a bit loose and she wants em fixed and fixed right. The guy is pretty good. He is almost right across the street from my old place of employment from the days when first moved to OKC in 1978. It was weird going back to the old place, and seeing all the changes in the area.

Stijn!!
Oh no! I just got a phone call from Microsoft. My Microsoft license has expired, and I have to call them right way or my computer will be locked and I will have to pay even more to use it. Dang the luck.
Remember back when I was a kid riding with Mom and Dad back into the woods near Grove, OK to an old guy that refinished and re-caned a set of 4 ladder back chairs with cane seats. Seem to remember he made the 4th one to match the other 3 as well.

Well so far my many computers are all still running and I did not call Microsoft back to give them my name address and phone number and a credit card number. I can think of 12 seats of Windows 10 Pro that I own all of or my business partner owns half as well. I have to admit, I was not too concerned about the BS call.
The crappy weather from California is coming in today. The temp is 30 degrees so some light freezing rain and maybe an inch or so of snow. Oh joy. I will deal with it all the easy way, I am just gonna stay home. My main computer has been churning all day yesterday and all night and should be done with the project we flew Sunday pretty soon. I will go in and do the tweaks, and make it perfect, and FTP it to the client with the invoice. Work work work work work. Phew. So Richard, no lunch today. I see no reason to go play in the freezing rain. Maybe tomorrow or Thursday. |
Morning all. The weather fools changed their minds again. WE might see some flakes in the air at the higher foothill elevations but that's about it.
I got a call from Palo Alto Speedometer this morning. Hartmut C. Mees called me at 8:15 AM central time. He must get to work really early. With a name like Hartmut, I expected a thick German or Austrian accent. He had no accent at all.
I sent the my clock to him last week. It arrived Friday afternoon. He confirmed he had received it in good condition, and said he would look at at on Monday. He said two capacitors we blown, and the gears had an issue that he repaired. He will ship it back tomorrow when he is finished with the repairs. So basically two day service on the repair. I like that. The reputation they have is good, so I expect a perfect clock back later in the week. Cool. |
That’s great service, Glen. Sorry about the weather we’re sending you. Right now, it’s 36 degrees here. Dammmm! Wait until that works it’s way over to you.
Most of the storms in recent weeks went just north of us, and hammered Kansas and Missouri and states east of them. We are just far enough south to miss most of it so far. Next week's forecast is looking OK so far. It is February, and this is the worst month for winter weather for us. My dad hated February more than any month.
It is a short month and because of that they have to cram a lot more in.
That best part abut Feb. is it is a short month. I am ready for spring.
No reason to put on long pants if I ain't goin nowhere for lunch.
