At least it isn't warm enough for 'gators to move in.
|
There are gators in SW Oklahoma. Not many, but we have bears, and mountain lions as well.
|
No large wild life around here.
|
had to mow the lawn today, miss your mowers? ;)

My idea of the perfect lawn is green astro-truf. Put cups in and charge the neighbor kids to play on it.

We have been about 51 degrees below normal temp range! 51 degrees!
For the last three days we have totally shattered the records from the 1909 era. 10 to 15 degrees colder than the old records. So 112 year old records. I hope to never see them broken again. |
Welp, -8 this morning. mumble mumble grumble expletive expletive expletive.
Oklahoma has so far avoided the rolling blackouts like Texas is having. We were on the verge and they managed to get more generation capacity back on line. It is really amazing to me that making heat to keep people warm is more juice than air conditioning. I guess it is the difference of heating the air from below zero to 100 degrees to blow warm air versus cooling 100 degree air to 74 of so. I am real glad we have natural gas heat. Our Central heating furnace is running a lot in this insane weather. We are supposed to be back to 60s and normal weather by the weekend. |
Morning all. Yeah I still have spot of white in the yard and they say we might hit 50 today. Fingers crossed for your temps to return to normal.
|
We are supposed to be back to normal this week as well. Near 30*.
So David, did you build a snowman is why there is a little white left? |
Its the pile up from the walkway shoveling.
|
Morning all. Supposed to be almost 50 today. A far cry from last week,
|
We start to climb out of the freezer on Saturday. It is still snowing now, and we have had I bet 8 more inches of that crap. We don't get back to "normal" until Monday or Tuesday.
We have not opened the garage doors since Saturday. It may be Friday before we can get out of our garage and back in safely. |
Are you going to go out in the Macan and see how it handles in the snow?
|
If we HAVE to get out, it would be in the Macan. The El Camino is in the south bay, and to shovel all the snow to get the Elky out would be a full day of shoveling. The Macan is in the middle bay, and easiest to get in or out. The 911 ain't gonna go no where for a while.
Obviously, the Macan with 4 wheel drive and higher ground clearance is a better option than the Elky. The Elky has a limited slip rear end, and low end torque and does OK, but much of that is me knowing how to drive in slippery conditions. Right now I see little chance of us getting out for the next few days. |
Better to stay home and stay safe. You and I both know there is some fool out there in a 4WD who thinks he or she can drive and normal speeds.
|
I had a package coming from Amazon that was originally due on Monday. I was pretty sure that was not going to happen with the blizzard of Sunday. They sent a new email that it was out for delivery on Tuesday, still nothing. Now I have an email that says it will show up today. I am guessing it does not.
Our trash is normally picked up on Tuesday. That is moved to Sunday. They should just cancle it and I will wait until next Tuesday. We have not had any mail in three days. |
Having fun now boss!
We had the fun of shoveling the 400 acre driveway. At least the part that is the driveway from the street up to the parking lot area. Then the parking area behind the Macan's center spot so we can back up and pull forward down the driveway. To get back up is easier, just turn in and park. The top 400 acres is not all finished. My business partner lives close by and offered to make a banana run at the local store that is just right on his way. He drives past it on the way here and just a right turn into the lot. He also brought over some Yuengling that he bought in Arkansas last time he was there. We can't get it in Oklahoma as yet. He has been on a IPA kick and knew it would go bad before he had a chance to dink it. I will help him avoid that horrid fate. |
buy a really expensive snow shovel. You will never see another flake again.
