A fried from work sent me a picture from up North in a place called Bellingham. It showed a gas station parking lot with a car in it. The water was just below the windows. Yikes

GH85Carrera 11-15-2021 01:16 PM

That was no parking lot, it was a lake!

Sad deal for all the people living in that area. Likely close to a river and they had a 100 year flood for the fifth time in the last 100 years.

Porsche-poor 11-15-2021 01:17 PM

Possibly. I know that they were predicting 2" or more of rain here.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2021 06:14 AM

We had wonderful weather yesterday and more of the same is forecast today. Mid 70s and clear skies.

I got the 911 all washed up and vacuumed. I accused the boss's wife of trying to clean the parking lot by tracking the leaves and dirt into the car. The passenger side floorboard was gross. It is all better now.

At Palooza, on the final night we can drop the 5 tickets into cups to try and win a door prize that you want. I put in three tickets on a set of Porsche dealership supplied valve cover gaskets. The give everyone 5 tickets when you register, and just bring them on the last night, and pick your door prize to try for. The had about 40 different door prizes. I put one ticket in on some other items.

I was real happy to get a OEM Porsche branded valve cover gaskets in the sealed box. I will not need them for several years, but I have them in stock!

This is likely 60% of the cars registered in the show. There were a lot more I could not get in the photo, and another entire lot of cars in the upper level.

Morning all. Cold and frosty here today. Probably wet later.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2021 07:19 AM

We have yet to have our first freeze. We got real close over the weekend, but no actual freeze yet.

flipper35 11-16-2021 09:47 AM

We have only been down to 26* so far.

Porsche-poor 11-16-2021 10:55 AM

after hours of messing with updates for the computer I think I can actually work now.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2021 11:06 AM

The only computer I have that will run Windows 11 is my main system. I think I will let it update to 11 and see if I like it at all. I am supposed to have a week to revert back to 10 before it is stuck on 11.

My old system is an i5 CPU and will not work, and the laptop will need a firmware update likely to use the secure boot function Win 11 requires.

flipper35 11-16-2021 11:12 AM

I would have a good backup before going all in on 11. At home it will be a couple years before I decide. Might have to create a domain controller at home if they don't allow local accounts. I see no reason for me to have a Microsoft account tied to my computer.

Porsche-poor 11-16-2021 11:52 AM

Thats my biggest problem with the current home computer. Its tied to the wife's account and its a bear for me to use it at all.

GH85Carrera 11-16-2021 11:56 AM

So does Win 11 require a Microsoft account?

I do NOT want to have to log into my own computer just to use it. I know Win 10 really wants me to use the Microsoft account, but I don't.

flipper35 11-16-2021 02:13 PM

Might be just the Home version. Not sure on the Pro or Enterprise versions.

Will be hard for our kids since they cannot setup a Microsoft account with a custom domain. Microsoft Sucks.

Porsche-poor 11-17-2021 06:37 AM

Morning all. So I am off again today but working at baby sitting.....................

GH85Carrera 11-17-2021 07:19 AM

Grandpa duty. Low pay, rewarding duty.

I am happy to remind you that I have never once changed a diaper. Don't miss it, and I don't wanna try it.

flipper35 11-17-2021 07:31 AM

Changing diapers isn't all that bad, at least according to my wife!

OK, I have changed them and they aren't horrible like some videos make you think they are.

flipper35 11-17-2021 07:34 AM

There is a series of these to pass your time when the tyke is sleeping.

I had to mail a check for just over 40 bucks to the Oklahoma Tax commission for the 182's yearly registration and excise tax. They include a nice chart for the different costs to register aircraft. We are way at the left and top of the chart. On the other end, a multi engine jet over 100,000 pounds is a cool $225,000 per year just for the honor of owning it, and keeping it the state.

Of course that is peanuts compared to the cost of the aircraft and maintenance and fuel and operation of large aircraft. I bet it is way higher in a lot of other states.

flipper35 11-17-2021 12:55 PM

Well, after buying the front end parts and not having the shop get them in for almost a year, I am not sure what to do with the Durango. Needs a fender from when it was replaced from an impact with a deer years ago. The underside is pretty rusty bot otherwise it is in great shape. We could get a decent price if we sold it, but it is paid for. Not sure how the fluid film will help with the rust at this point. Might donate it to someone from church that needs something to get by a year or two.
