Did you get your AC fixed?
|
Patched. He filled it back up and added a dye so we can trace the leak in Oct. Unless if fails sooner that that. But for now we have a much cooler house.
|
Been rainy, sunny, hot, cold.
Took the daughter to look at some acoustic bass guitars. She couldn't make up her mind so bought two. She pointed out a nice Fender acoustic 6 string in a really nice mahogany. It came home too. She bought an Alvarez in natural gloss, an Ibenez in satin mahogany and of course mine is gloss mahogony. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721703044.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721703044.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721703044.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1721703044.jpg |
Nice looking guitars.
Today is mow and edge the yard day again. It is currently 68 degree, but 93% humidity. The dew point was hit at 7:36 AM so the grass is super wet. It looks like the sprinkler ran, but it didn't. I will have to wait until it is dry (and much warmer) to mow. |
Morning all. Those woody music makers look really nice.
|
Golly that was fun. Thee yard looks better however.
Back in the stone ages when I was in high school several male classmates started carrying around guitars to look cool. I always asked if they could play an entire song, not just the first few chords of Smoke on the water or Stairway to heaven. Some could, some were just posers. I can play my CD player, my iPhone, and Pandora on several devices, and the stereos in my cars. I have no ability to play an instrument. In grade school they tried to teach music. It all sucked, and I really sucked at it. I listen to music all the time, and just appreciate those that make music. |
Yep no talent here either. I play the car keys or the app on the phone.

We have a pair and I presume a nest pair of of Mississippi Kites in our area. Yesterday while mowing the grass on was just 10 or 15 feet above my head, chasing a bug. They eat mostly insects. One landed in our back yard this morning likely checking out the Koi pond for bugs.
First a turkey, and now a kite so far this year. We have had Blue Herons having an expensive Koi meal. They are large birds! It is against Federal law to harass them, but fortunately our dogs don't know the law and they chased it off before it got all the Koi. |
Morning all. We have a bold eagle or two around. I have seen one in the air once this year and we hear them all the time.
|
We see vultures, and eagles on occasion flying on the updrafts. The bald eagles nest in the eastern parts of the of the city, not far from us.
|
Morning all. Pick up one kid at the airport this afternoon.
|
The warmer weather is returning. Dang Californians pushing the heat dome east. We have been having highs in the 80s. The 90s are returning.
The rain sure has everything green. |
green is good. less fire danger

The mean boss's wife rousted me out of bed at 6:00 AM. I took a shower, and get ready for the day as usual, except no breakfast or coffee.
She than had me help her in the garage to set up extension cords, and my Workmate table so she could sand on the shelves of the bookcase in the living room. She is going to paint it. Tomorrow I "get" too help her drag thee bookcase out to the garage and my El Camino will be forced outside so she can use my scissor lift with the plywood on top for her to sand the bookcase itself before painting it. The real fun will be in a few weeks when the all new custom furniture arrives. She picked the fabric, and the manufacturer. She is having a large ottoman custom made, and the layout will be different. The real pain will be replacing the entertainment system. Take everything out, and get that heavy thing outside. Then bring in an all new system and hook up everything. That will be an all day sucker. |
Oh yea, at 8:00 I had to be at the lab to have my blood and urine test for my annual wellness check. It was a fasting test, so no breakfast.
She had to scan my driver's license, both insurance cards. Then she printed out three 8.5x11 pieces of paper for me too sign, and she scanned those, the shredded the paper. What a waste of paper. |
morning all. if she scanned the paper why not just use a digital signature and save a tree or two?

Well the poor El Camino is banished to the driveway for a while as she sands and paints the bookshelf. It is out in the garage, AC running. Then se decided she needed three more things, and Lowe's had them all. So I took her to Lowe's, and was allowed to carry it all to the car.
Now she is sanding and painting. |

The bookshelf on the lift to make sanding more comfortable. With the AC, two ceiling fans and a floor fan it is cooler out there than in the house. |
After two days of my El Camino out in the parking area, the bookcase and shelves are all painted with the first coat. One more coat, and I get my garage back!
Today I get to mow again. Oh Boy! |
