I can imagine, but hey, if you fail these, you live.... If you fail the practicals,....

But tests generally suck, there's no denying that.

Morning guys.

A friend of mine, who is a pilot, says. "Take offs are optional, landings are mandatory"

morning Rick

About 10 questions left. Done for the night. After I pass the flying exam, I think the only tests I will have to take for the rest of my life, are the occasional driving test.

Morning, Rick.

Exactly!!! You're supposed to point your nose at the ground to land. No good can come of that and the duck proves it. :D

Good morning guys.

I almost always sleep just fine. 10:40 PM in bed and a few minutes later the alarm clock goes off at 6:10 AM. On weekends we sleep until the dogs figure they will die of hunger and start moaning at about 8:00.

Geronimo '74 03-09-2011 05:48 AM

Morning Glen,

you have an hour more sleep than me during the weekdays...
I try to catch up during the weekend, I have no dogs....

GH85Carrera 03-09-2011 05:54 AM

As long as I have my wife we will have dogs. Daschunds. They are great little dogs.

Tonight the local Porsche club board meeting is at my house. The club pays for the food. 95% of the time it is Pizza. Sid can't make it so I was thinking of Lobster tail or a shrimp boil & grilled sirloins.

That would require a lot of work so I am looking for a suggestion of something 8 to 12 guys will scarf down. Something that can be put out with minimal work.

Any ideas?

Geronimo '74 03-09-2011 06:16 AM

food for 8 to 12 guys with minimal effort... that must be takeaway, unless you're married to Jamie Oliver... ;)
I would base my decision on whatever takeaway places you have closeby or on your way home from work. If there is nothing that suits your needs among these places, pizza is always a safe bet.
I guess you'll be needing beer too.

Subway sandwich and or chicken wings. Perhaps some chips and salsa. What's not to love.

Although the PCA haters will be suprised you are not serving wine and cheese. You know, baked brie with a nice Pinot;)

I would bet it has been over 20 years since our region had a wine & cheese party. That was back in the days of the 80s oil boom. We had a few members with the gold chains & jewelry. They all vanished when the oil bust hit. We had several beer tasting parties after that. With the DUI liability laws of today that has stopped.

Pizza is the easy choice. We did BBQ ribs & brisket about a year ago.

morning guys.

You all have a great region- I participated in a few events when I lived in Lawton in the late 80s.

Thanks. I have been very involved in the club since I moved to OKC in 1978.

porsche4life 03-09-2011 08:24 AM

We are very fortunate to have a good group in OK.

I wish I had that warm fuzzy feeling here, but I feel like the red headed step child driving a 79 SC when the rest of the crowd has cars that are 2-3 years old at best.........

GH85Carrera 03-09-2011 09:18 AM

One of the guys that is the newsletter editor drove a 924 that was so ugly even he called it the cockroach. He does not even have a Porsche right now. We still enjoy his company and he will be there tonight.

I drove a 914 for 20 years. I never felt like a lesser member.

We have one member with at least 10 Porsches and he is just as nice as the rest.
