Got Blu-ray?

With Xmas around the corner thought I would start the hunt. Looking for mid- high range player for the LARGE home theater. We have xbox360 so no PS3.

What TV do you have? I've got a Samsung Blu-Ray and Samsung TV. I like the fact that if I put a disk in the drive, the TV will automatically start things up and switch over to the Blu-Ray. It also negotiates to the display settings to match the disk.

My Denon receiver has HDMI inputs.

Oppo BDP 83 would be the first one I would consider.

In my theatre we use the Marantz UD9004, I recommend it highly.

Very nice however, the 7004 is more in my price range

are they down to $30 yet?

I waited on a DVD player until $30, so figure to repeat that.

dvd played through a computer upconverted/filtered on my 47" lcd looks damn good. Opening scene of latest 007, the waves in the water looked a bit grainy, but the entire chase intro looked awesome. I stopped looking for issues after that.

Do Blu-Ray players stream that stream NetFlix do so in HD?

I've been on the fence as to getting a Blu-Ray player...Netflix in HD could seal the deal.

Thanks.
Mike

fwi I haven't had any Blu-ray players come through the pawn shop (other than PS III's) and only a handfull of discs. My customers always get that kind of stuff long before I do.

Go to Amazon.com and read reviews. I bought the Samsung. It loads Blu-Ray faster than the other units plus it plays Netflix nicely and it plays Pandora music!

When are the discs going to match DVD movie prices?
