Right. Button fly 501s. Be careful though - bought 2 pair ar Kohl's recently. Material didn't feel quite right, put a pair on at home, legs too long, different fabric, stitching color and fit. Returned them and learned they were made in China. Went back to Sears where they're made in Mexico - same fabric, fit, feel and size since highschool.

What a fkng travesty! Levis outsourced to China & Mexico (and who knows where else).

If you look on the label, they don't say "Guaranteed Forever" anymore either.

My wife's jeans are much too small for me to wear, and trust me, I have tried.

Walking around DT L.A. yesterday, heading up Broadway between 3rd/4th where all of the big open-air Latin America-type markets are when I see the sign, "Levis 501s, $32.95". Walked 10 feet in the door and there they were, they had my size. Bought 'em.

Was thinking that they must have fell off a train for that price. But maybe not. The LAPD has a special division that visits those DT bazars looking for counterfeit and/or stolen goods so that would be a risky business strategy.

It's been about two years, but last time I was there, the dept. store in my hometown in NJ sold 501's for $26 and there's no sales tax on clothes in NJ.

How long does a pair of jean last for you? I find after a few years and many washings, they start getting shorter on me in the legs....I guess they are shrinking.

I bought a pair of 501 in Victoria, BC last summer. Back home it just didn't feel right compared to my other 501's (only jeans I've been wearing for 20+years). Turns out this one is made in Mexico while the other ones are made in Romania. The Romanian ones feel much better in all aspects.
BTW, a pair of 501 here is about 95 euro or 145 USD

I send my size and wash specs to India and get a few pair when our boy's jeans are done.

Might be wrong about Sears/Mexico but they're the same as I've been wearing since looong before they did away with the copper (not plated) rivets; but long after they removed the rivet at the bottom of the fly.

Story has it that Mr. Strauss removed it because of complaints from cowboys who would sit around their campfire and that fly rivet would get so hot that when they stood up it would brand their Johnson.

Wow, I haven't worn Levis in years. Lucky jeans are the way to go. Nice to see the "Made in the USA" on them as well.

Yep- I like Lucky and Guess. I have some Levi's, but they never make the rotation if the other brands are wear ready. I also like some of the Old Navy jeans.

I also like the 5.11 tactical stuff. I need to pick up some of the pants- those look cool. Plus I have a feeling that the more squared away you look the better chance of successfully open-carrying a sidearm without getting hassled by the po-po.

I will test this hypothesis and report back.

I never cared too much about my jeans, but this summer I started looking for some new pairs. I could not find a cut that I liked until I went the designer route. I bought two pairs of Seven Jeans and now can't imagine wearing anything else. I am going to pick up another pair when I go home next.

One pair on sale for $90, the other for $155. The prices range from $155-$225. Comfort and style is unparalleled though.

Didn't they build a Walmart or something across the street where the fair grounds/racetrack used to be??
