I suggest not fighting it. Focusing on your strengths will garner you more that trying to correct perceived weaknesses.

I'm always a bit jealous of people with the ability to draw a recognizable image, my dad was capable in charcoal, pen, watercolor, oils, tooling leather and so on.

I've tried but I got none of that.
I'm just barely able to point a camera halfway decently at times.

For me that is the hardest part of trying to create visual art. I see a house. I know it has 90 angles at every corner, but of course because of perspective I don’t SEE 90 degree angles. It’s very hard to shift my experience of the house away from what know to what is actually see.

Perspective is easy. I could teach you that in 5 minutes, or less.
