German "baby Thunderbird" on Ebay
This is probably the best looking Auto Union I've seen for sale in the U.S., looks like a relic of the American 1950s..they nicknamed it the "baby Thunderbird." I've been watching it for several days and no bids at 9k, I doubt it will sell for 19k. It's hard to know what this is worth, since Auto Union cars were never imported into the U.S. and there's not much out there on them.
![]() They put the radiator behind the engine ![]() AU rings..looks like someone slapped an Audi badge on a 1st gen. Thunderbird ![]()

If GM built that car today they would sell out! Those lines are timeless...

DKW (Auto Union) was imported to the US in the '60's. were sold by the Studebaker dealer in Albuquerque.
It was a 2 door sedan. There is one of those 'T-birds' in Denver, was at a car show last summer. They are all 2-stroke engines. Early SAAB's used DKW (popcorn popper) engines. |
