Ducati Oil Filter Torque ?

I got the bike started today and ran it a little bit. Has had an oil leak for a while now. Not being one to gorilla on filters, it looks like I didn't tighten the filter enough. With the thick rubber seal, how tight do you tighten these?

It was great to hear it again! April isn't so far away.

lowbeam headlight died while running.

'Don't think I've ever torqued any oil filter.
Snug, plus 1/4 turn?
Run for leak test, if none, fine...if leak, snug more.
.
Sorry 'bout headlight.
.
'Had 2 Ducatis...nothing like that sound.

Make sure you've only got one rubber seal in there. Sometimes the old one will choose to stay behind ; ).

Ditto...usually normal torque of hand tight plus a quarter works for these

Thanks guys, this is a 98 motor we put in my 93 last summer. I just checked, didn't have a second seal. I think I just didn't tighten it enough. Greg, do you have an oil recommendation? I've just been using what the local Ducati dealer recommends, but would like another opinion.
