is this a good laptop ?

I have a Dell Lattitude laptop that still works good but I'm looking to replace it. I like the clarity of the newer screens plus larger size. For the most part I internet surf, email and store photos. Not a gamer and don't watch many videos. So in todays newspaper there is an ad from a local vendor selling a Toshiba laptop with a 15.6 inch screen, Intel Pentium T4300 processor, 4GB memory and 320GB hard drive. Operating system is Windows 7 Premium 64 bit. The sale price is $449.99............no rebates that's the price. So for you guys in the know does this sound like a decent machine ?

Responding to you on that very same machine right now. Bought it for my wife a few weeks ago to replace an HP that was nothing but headaches. The Toshiba's been great in every regard. Go get it. Can't beat that deal either.

I have a Toshiba Satellite 305, I love it. My only complaint is the key board feels a little cheap. No issues though

I really prefer the Dell laptops, but the Toshiba should be OK. The HP laptops are a pain when you're trying to find drivers, etc...

I've had my Toshiba Satellite for about 3 yrs. now. It's big/heavy (17" screen), but I wanted it to replace my tower. Zero problems in 3 yrs. On occasion, I leave it running almost 24/7.

Toshiba makes fine notebooks. I have several including a Qosmio, no issues.

I am now a Toshiba owner. I went to Best Buy and looked over their selection and they had the exact model as Office Max but with less memory and a AMD processor for the same price. So I went to Office Max and bought it, for the same price I got 4 gig instead of 3 gig of memory. I'm using it right now as I type this. Now I have 14 days to decide on an extended warranty. OM offers 2 years for $99.00 that covers most accidents, voltage surges and defective hardware. If they can't fix it they give you a store credit for the purchase amount of the computer. I'm keeping my Dell as backup should I purchase the extended warranty ?

I think the Satellite is the 'rugged' series, the Latitude is not quite as good.

I wouldn't look at anything but a Toshiba.

Holy hell that is cheap. For that price you could buy one every 2 months!!
