Ryan, congrats on both accords! I give a huge amount of respect to anyone able to write a book worth reading, it takes an incredible amount of talent.

Hey Ryan, congrats on the book and job! Good to hear some positive news coming from you. Hard to believe all these stories of the recession hurting everyone. My company lost money for the first time this year, but not overly significant, and we'll hang on, which i guess is the best you can hope for.

Good luck with the car sale - sorry I can't be the new owner right now, and I still can't believe it hasn't sold. If business takes off in the spring like I hope it will, I'll be in touch I need a year-round 911 - heat in the winter, cabrio in the summer!

I just went through the amazon purchase - really quite painless, including downloading Kindle for PC, so really starting from scratch, except that I already had an amazon account, so I didn't have to set that up. They really do make it easy - total time invested was maybe 60 seconds. Sounds like an interesting book!

todd, man that's killer i'm like randy quaid's character cousin eddie in christmas vacation..'just glad to be here'..the book that is.. i've actually given a good bit of thought to attempting a screenplay version..i keep hearing that would be a good undertaking. besides the sci-fi stuff, it's got romance, too. but if you tear up reading it, you don't have to tell me..

Don't worry about it - I think it was just wishful thinking on my part, at least for now. Such a beautiful car, though... sigh...

Anyway, I'm around p. 700 of War and Peace right now, so I'll still be literature-ly in Russia for the next while After that I've got Treasure Island lined up - my 3 year old is ridiculously crazy about pirates, so I want to read what I understand is the source of all our pirate lore. After that will be your book. I did read a bit of the prologue and the first page today - the first page is really intriguing - sounds like a fun read, so I'm looking forward to it.

Please lets chill on the kid situation! Am really hoping that nothing has happened and that this is the last we hear about me being a dad with the mom being 1000 miles away and not interested in moving.

Anyways its been an off and on situation. Old company closed in 2005 and threw all of us out in the street. We did overseas contract work for 3 years then 2008 found a full time gig that lasted only 14 months then laid off again in August of this year.

Is so nice to have something firm coming together again... and hope it does for you as well!

Joe

That's right

The draft I have on computer is more polished with fewer typos etc but the one uploaded is fairly readable.

I plan on writing a book one day, but I need to study a bit more on "statute of limitations" law.

Congrats, Ryan!

All Pelicans have a moral obligation to register on the Authonomy site and back our books!

I'm in the same boat. Perhaps we can share our research.

rick - you still playing? i got a evh mxr phase 90 for xmas, but was a demo model and someone must have fried it with the wrong power adapter, so another cpl weeks before i can try it out. i do have a digitech rp500..don't know if you have a modeling pedal board....too many options in hindsight...would rather have made one with the few components i really use. i'm still playing, but not as much..my brother and i haven't uploaded since may i think. i got a video cam for xmas, so i hope to figure it out and do some when i get time. i've been playing more acoustic stuff lately..got the intro to 'take your whiskey home' nailed..love that one..once i got the feel, it was on! also finally playing the intro and interlude to 'full bug' correctly..had been just faking it. for a change of pace, this week it was nancy wilson's of heart's sweet intro to 'crazy on you'..always loved it.

Yes, still playing. I got a badge for NAMM in two weeks and EVH has a booth there for his gear. The local Fender rep. told me he knows nothing, which means something is going down. I hear this is the one event EVH never misses, even when he's in rehab. I hope I finally get to meet him. Full report upon my return.
