Auto Auctions

Anybody watch the Mecum Auto Auction on the HD channel?

Any shows like this with P cars?

Never caught that one... I watch Barret Jackson on Speed some when I am bored... Think I have seen a 356 and a 930.

I happened to be flipping thru when they were selling an bright green RS Carrera - for 275. Large.

haven't really cared much for the Mecum auctions. just not interested in low mileage '85 Camaros and the like.

have you found Sports Car Market yet? fantastic publication.

I get bored quickly with the TV auctions. Honestly, how many Camaro and 'Cuda buyers are out there?

I agree.

Although I do love the code word "built to taste," which is code for "WTF was this guy thinking?!?"

They had a 356 on there. went for 40k or so I think. Didn't catch the Rs dang-it.

I believe that was Russo and Steele. Their auctions are almost a farce...straight up showmanship. I grew up going to the Auburn/Kruse auction every year (did the Concours D'elegance a few years back and won the sports car class...followed by dinner at Dean Kruse's house). The Concours is held at the WWII museum across I-69 from the auction park. ...in order for Dean to drive back and forth between the auction park and the Concours, he drove a '58 Testarossa, instead of a golf cart. That guy has some SERIOUS cars in his collection.

I live about 5 blocks from where Mecum has their Indy auctions...I'll try and catch the next one to see how it is, versus Kruse.

btw....Mecum had one of the Shelby Cobra Coupes here...I think it went up to almost 7 million. I believe it was a no sale.
