Where to find deals on Hard drives

I used to buy from "Dirt Cheap Drives". I guess I haven't needed to buy one for a while, 'cause they're out of business...

Anyway, suggestions on a place to get a really good deal on notebook drives.

Best I've found so far is a 320GB, 7200 RPM for $69.99

I need 2 of them, for a RAID setup, which will be connected to my NAS device.

What I'd like:

7200 RPM
SATA
500GB (or more)
under $0.20/GB

Any of the online guys like Tiger Direct or Newegg have great deals.

MicroCenter just opened in St. Louis - awesome computer store. Try Microcenter.com.

Like having a Newegg down the street.

I picked up a 1T 7200 32mg Cache drive for $69 last week.

This is off topic a bit but....

Back in the stone ages of the internet long before Google I had discovered that you can guess the web address of many places. I was showing this to the owner of the company I worked at. We needed a new hard drive so I typed in harddrive.com and it was a porn site. That was my first experience with on-line porn. I used Altavista for a search engine after that.

that' the thing, 320 gb for 69 is probably good for a notebook drive
but for 3.5 inch drives .20 cts to the GB is just not cheap at all

I typically shop the weekend circulars.

Always a loss leader available.

Or Newegg.com

320's for 69 is a good price.

What is your NAS built from? Are you using a PC in a standard case or a dedicated device?

Interesting product. InstaRAID IR12TB - Internal RAID 0/RAID 1 2 bay 2.5" Hard Drive Enclosure

Another, Portable Dual Drive RAID enclosure from Addonics

If Firewire were available for connectivity I'd opt for that.

The RAID device I've purchased is a small form factor, and uses 2 SATA notebook drives. The RAID box was $19 and is USB.

I have a Buffalo Linkstation, which we're presently using as our file server for the business. I do not like the idea that this drive can go down and we lose our business data. I have it backed up on a daily basis, but that isn't the same.

I can keep using the internal hard drive for PC backups. But I want a RAID array for the business data. I would really prefer to buy one of these, but I would prefer not to spend $500-600 right now.

LOL. I was looking for "In and Out Burger" back in the day and did the same thing. Who knew inandout dot com was not about hamburgers :)

Back on topic, +1 for TigerDirect.
