Truglo red dot for $100?
Good deal? Or no better than the PA M3 clone?

The only truglo stuff I've handled have been junk. Airsoft quality.
The PA stuff is good for the money. |
Walther makes good cheap, functional red dot's. So do Tasco, Burris, Bushnell, Redfield, etc, etc, etc. Tasco pro-points are under a hundred bucks, and i've hunted with those in the field. You'd be ok with one of those...
They make a variety of models in the pro point line. Just get one in the $100 range, and you won't get hurt. EDIT: This one is $130 at Wal Mart: http://i.walmartimages.com/i/mp/MP/1...45_500X500.jpg This one is $60 bucks at Amazon.com: http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...BL._SS500_.jpg Both are Tasco Pro Points, either will work, but the one for $130 is clearly nicer. |
prob be ok for small calibers. doubt it'd hold up to rifle recoil in the long run.

Thanks guys.

Keep in mind that AR's barely kick at all.
I had a tasco propoint on my .44 magnum Blackhawk for a couple years, it held up just fine. |
my friend has a truglo very similar to that one on his crossbow. believe it or not, a x-bow kicks pretty decent. he mounted a surefire light to the rails, and the recoil kept destroying his bulbs. the truglo never missed a beat.
i was suprised. |
