Saline flush and Claratin

89911 01-27-2010 03:13 PM

I had reoccurring sinus problems for years. Catch a fall cold and have sinus problems all winter (post nasal drip, bad taste, obstructed breathing, general pain). I was diagnosed with nasal polyps from an ENT and finally bite the bullet when I had a severe case. Had the polyps removed over a weekend and went back to work on Monday. I have had ZERO problems since. No sinus congestion or pain. Colds don't even seem to be as bad. I suggest getting it looked at if you can.

Yup, the neti pot. Say no to drugs.

My wife keeps trying to get me to get a Neti pot, but I'm afraid I'd drown.

normal saline flush, for me. i fractured my cheek bone, years ago, and i get sinus infections on that side at the drop of a hat.

you might want to get that fixed

I have been fortunate on the sinus thing, given where I live.

i did. surgically. with a rod and stuff. i still get the infections.

if the pressure starts getting out of hand, a little afrin usually opens things up and allows the NS to do its work. but don't try the afrin while driving....

+1 on the NielMed rinse kit.

I used to get a lot of sinus infections; when I had my wisdom teeth removed, they went away. Now I get one maybe every 2 or 3 years.
