VW Boxster

The end is nigh for Porsche. VW will start branding Porsche models VW, and that'll be it for Porsche.

I disagree. Audi are basically VWs with lock washers and leather seats. They sell just fine.

I think the Boxster would do better as a VW. Us the 2.0 turbo powerplant, drop the price $5k, and you could sell quite a few.

At least it doesn't look like a 911!!!!!!

That alone is a HUGE step forward.

Well, that hasn't been decided yet. The new boss wants to increase production volumes and to do that they'd have to have more models in production than they do now. What they would be hasn't been figured out yet.

Another way of looking at that could be more people will be attracted to the brand umbrella, and could move up the chain to Porsche at the very top as the customer goes through life and prospers. The ol' GM plan. Start with a Chevy and end up with a Caddy.

needs more TDI

I think it's great! Here's a concept shot from a year ago when they were talking TDI:

Porsche has been working with designers & suppliers on some very light wt. components for a while now.

I am hoping that we see the fruits of those labors not just in C-GTs and the high end cars, but also in the soon to be announced VW sports car and Porsche Boxsterette...

The car pictured here is the Blue-tec concept car..... It was in the works pre-Porsche buyout... Was going to have a TDI in it...

A new shipment of Crack must have made it's way down-under.

Porsche is not going anywhere and the VW BlueSport has been on the books for a long time.

That's a sweet little car. Particularly because it's diesel.

I don't think it will have a single ill effect on Porsche.

RWebb 02-17-2010 03:04 PM

I don't care who makes it or who puts who else's marque on it, I just want it to weigh 1,100 lbs. have a measly 200 hp, and have the motor behind the driver.

... just a simple request

teenerted1 02-17-2010 04:28 PM

i dont see any "Porsches" in that photo

targa911S 02-17-2010 04:33 PM

It's been done before. You all remember the 914 don't you?

I hope they sell/lease millions of them.

dd74 02-17-2010 10:08 PM

Each time I see that car, I like it more. It's been a while since that's happened to me with a car.

Settle down...

"Porsche isn't going anywhere".....and it was never going to be owned by VW either!
