Me and Laundry

Why do I seem destined to never learn how to do the laundry? Every time I try, my wife comes upstairs and says something like, "You put those in the washer and put it on warm/cold?" or "That shirt has 50% polyester and that shirt has 47% rayon. You can't wash those together."

How does she know so much? Is there a secret society for mothers and daughters in which the chief purpose is to enlighten one another regarding the nuances of laundry, all the while keeping us lesser male beings completely in the dark? Dan Brown must investigate.

My mom told me all these rules about what can be washed together and what can't. I end up throwing nearly everything into one pile and going to town (some of my expensive clothes being the exception)...it all turns out fine.

Yes.

However I can and will tell you the entirety of the laundry secrets held within that secret society.

You didn't hear this from me.

Wash everything in cold water.

there always have been, and there still are, some things that I refuse to let "them" wash in cold water. Warm and soapy is MUCH better!!

Psssh. If it doesn't go to the dry cleaners/get steamed, it all goes in one load. I've yet to ruin anything with this method.
