Fantasy Baseball
 

Hey all,

It's that time of year again, when the Boys of Summer take the field amidst warmer temperatures, blooming plants, and the sweet sound of European sports cars ricocheting off canyon walls.

This means that it's time to bring back the Pelican Parts OT Fantasy Baseball league. Last year we had 8 competitors, and the league was very competitive. What I'm gonna do this year is just put the league ID# and password right here in this thread, and the first 12 people who want in are in. Sound good.

INFO: It's a standard AL and NL Rotisserie draft, with 6X6 scoring: batting average, runs, RBI, HR, steals, walks (for batters); strikeouts, wins, WHIP, ERA, and K/BB ratio (pitchers). Each team will be allowed 25 players - 8 positions, 1 DH, 2 starting pitchers, 2 relievers, 3 other pitchers, and 9 bench players (any position). The draft is scheduled for Sunday morning, but can be pushed back if need be.

Just go to the Yahoo! Fantasy Sports page (Fantasy Baseball Leagues on Yahoo! Sports), and click "Join a League." Our ID# is 522388 and the Password is pelican.

it was a good time last year. i dont see why no one wants in. i know we only had like 4 active teams, but its still nice to have more teams.

I don't know anything about fantasy baseball, but i'm VERY MUCH looking forward to my Phillies making a 3rd straight World Series run.

I don't see anyone in the NL that's good enough to stop them.

Fantasy baseball is a blast; there is a very steep learning curve - it takes a couple of weeks to get the hang of it, but most people are "experts" by mid-season... so I think you'll be fine.

Anyone else want in? I'm postponing the draft until Thursday night in hopes that we get a few more...

So the draft is not tonight? I work Thursday night, but such is life

lendaddy - I can schedule it for Wed. night or Sat. late morning, if either of those would work better.

Okay, I'll change it. I'm hoping that we can get a few more players by then :)

I wont be able to do the draft. I'll let the pc use my picks again like the last 2 years. I dont think i would do the live draft anyways. I really hope we can get it up to like 7 or 8 teams, otherwise it wont be that much fun.

If we get fewer than 8 or so people, would anyone be cool doing a NL- or AL-only draft?

I'll be working Saturday so no draft for me. Just let the computer pick for me.

I would prefer AL only if we pick one, I follow the AL more closely.

Took a look at my roster for the first time today, not too bad!

I do have a question about the scoring. This is my first FBBall league so pardon my noobiness.

I understand the position players, my question is the pitchers. How are the pitcher points calculated? Daily? Weekly? If a starting pitcher isn't pitching that day should you bench him?
