Miller or Lincoln 230v
I need (want) a bigger welder. Been using a Lincoln 110v for years with excellent results, but I'm putting bigger stuff together these days.
Looking at either a Miller 212 or a Lincoln 216. Anyone have experience good or bad with either one? Thanks!

Not those particular models but you can't go wrong with either brand. Whichever of those that suits your needs wil be a good choice.

What he said.
If this was a choice between Campbell, Hobart, and Harbor Freight.....we'd still tell you to go buy a Miller or a Lincoln.

I have used a cheap welder before. They suck. They often won't consistently arc, and you end up getting the electrode wire stuck to the work piece. Oh, and the penetration sucks.
Get a good one.

Agreed. I have the Lincoln model but the Miller is top of the line. If you get a good deal on a Miller take it otherwise the Lincoln is also very good.

From the research I've done so far, the Miller has a greater feature set, both have similar price. The Miller is supported at my local welding supply house also.

Both are great machines, the Miller has the edge and better support.
I have a Millermatic 210 it's Bullet Proof.

I've got a millermatic 251 with optional spoolgun. I've done thin sheetmetal, structural steel, aluminum (with spoolgun)....all around KICKA$$ machine!
I see lots of pipefitters run big Lincoln welders.. The fab shops and custom welding guys seem to use Miller.

I've been happy with Miller. Be careful to buy from an 'factory authorized' dealer. Miller almost wouldn't service a machine I bought from an online retailer, which they claimed was not factory authorized.

I have had excellent luck with my LE 180C; however, the Miller equivalent offers the same quality (albeit at a slightly higher price in some locales). Whichever you choose, I highly recommend buying a continuously variable model rather than a click-n-choose unit. I find myself regularly making minute adjustments (sometimes even on the same project).
