One of the great ones.. My grandmother (whom we buried with a Tigers cap in her coffin) was a personal friend of his.. Great guy

Well that makes this Detroit boy sad. Ernie's voice was a voice from my childhood. Gods speed.

I'm not a huge sports fan but his voice always takes me back to when my dad would have the Tahgers on the tv.

Brings back memories of visiting my grandparents in the 70's/80's as a boy/teen..... If the Tigers were playing, the radio behind grandpa's chair had the game on no matter what kind of family get together we were having.

My sentiments exactly. A voice that immediately brings memories of my dad and grandfather sitting out front of the garage smoking cigars and listening to the Tigers after dinner. Better times...
